Hamilton Heights and Bradley Central are the strongest girls teams in the area. That score is very low for both, but they can both get after teams on Defense. Those 2 plus Baylor make up my top 3. All are very talented (multiple D1 players on each) and possess the keys to having great seasons. Good luck to all.[/

Multiple D1s ? Who are they. Just curious.

HH should not be even considered with other schools. They arent TSSAA so shouldnt even be in the same discussion as bradley. #playtssaa #ohyeayoucant

Not at all arguing with O2 and don't have a horse in the race with TSSAA,  just recognizing some of the talent in this area. Have watched this area's talent each summer and there are some hard working kids (boys and girls) who have a chance to continue in basketball after high school. We should all hope they get that opportunity.

I mentioned 3 schools who have kids that have had the opportunity to play for some of the best AAU programs and therefore have received some exposure along the way. Tn Xtreme, Alabama Stars, Tn Flight and Lady Ice all have players on these teams playing in some of the best tournaments on the circuit.

Their school teams are equally strong with excellent coaches who are good at player development and usually win a lot of games. I wish all our area schools good luck.

Based on summer interest, HH has as many as 8 guys and 6 girls that will continue their careers at a high level. That is amazing from a small school regardless of what league they play in.

Baylor has at least 3, maybe more, that will play at a high level including Clemmons- Ms. Basketball (Vandy) Bradley Central has a high level (Howard) just a Sophomore, with other mid major potential from the Tn Flight and Lady Ice programs.

There are plenty of other really good players in the area that may not have the players around them that these do in AAU or school ball. I hope they all receive the recognition they deserve and are able to continue their careers.

Having seen every second of all 12 games, I can honestly state that this was one of the strongest tournaments in the 16 tourneys played. The Bearettes of Bradley Central are a state contender as is William Blount while Morgan Park out of Chicago is certainly a state contender in Illinois. We all know about the strengths of Hamilton Heights with their ability to recruit players at their discrection to take transfers without having to sit out a year.

During the 16 years of its existence, the Bearette Thanksgiving tournament has included seven different state champions in its competition, some of which couldn't even win this Thanksgiving tourney. I expect to see some of this year's teams vying for the gold ball in March and HH will be a national contender in the NACA National Tourney

So O2BBALL how can you hold the fact that HH is not in the TSSAA against them? You don't have to play them if you so choose. But I can promise you that they will make you a better team simply because they will take you out of your comfort zone. They will make you play ways that you don't enjoy and the only way to beat them is to make them play ways they don't enjoy playing either. That is how the Bearettes beat them Saturday night. Very unlike the 20+ point loss that the Lady Hawks put on the Bearettes just a couple of weeks ago.

I congratulate Hamilton Heights. They make no bones about it that they are trying to build a basketball powerhouse in Chattanooga and they are on the verge of doing that. Be careful what you wish for when you say that it's not fair that they are not in the TSSAA. Just think if they were......they would absolutely dominate baskeball in this area with a couple of exceptions like Baylor, GPS and Bradley Central. Baylor and GPS offer 'financial aid' as needed (and as their sports teams need it).  Bradley Central being a public school cannot recruit. But the winning tradition of BCHS certainly gains the attention of area girls and parents who see an opportunity to play for an elite program and get superb coaching to prepare a player for college. The Bearettes currently have 10 players on scholarship playing collegiately at both DI and DII as well as NAIA and NCAA DII schools. There will be several others from this Bearette team that will also sign scholarship papers, most of which will take place in two years because there are only two seniors on the team.  Hamilton Heights has also shown a great ability to place girls and boys in the college ranks. Winning, hey it's an amazing thing. It will continue to be that way at the schools listed above..

Hamilton Heights picked up a jewel this year in slashing, driving, cutting, get-to-the-basket transfer Akia Harris from GPS. If GPS doesn't raise their tuition $6,000 more this year she would still be there. As it is now she only adds to the strength of HH. I expect they would be in the final four at the Glass House if it was allowed. I for one enjoy watching them play and wish them the best of luck this season.

Some of the players from this tournament that have signed college scholarships at this time are Akia Harris of Hamilton Heights to Tennessee Tech, Morgan Park's Gabrielle Cooper to Syracuse and MP's Deja Cage to Loyola of Chicago. Hamilton Heights should have the other three seniors that will sign somewhere this year. The Bearettes have no less than three juniors that will sign next year: Halle Hughes, Emma Kate Brown and Kailey McRee. Sophomore Rhyne Howard should be a D1 signee in two more years. Bearette senior Julia Gaither has indicated that she'll become involved in the medical field rather than play basketball in college. Down the roster there are more Bearettes preparing for college by playing for the Bearettes.

RIDICULOUS.....Any coach from any school could cherry pick players from 3 countries and beat anybody. Take your blinders off. HH isnt doing anything great for the kids. If they were TSSAA they would have to play D2 anyway. So, BB no one is scared of HH. Thats just crazy. They get the best players without any rules and brag about beating anybody is just RIDICULOUS. As far as the glass house. FORGET ABOUT IT. Thats reserved for teams and schools with rules. SORRY

They could not even be Division II with transfers not sitting out, foreign exchange students being placed there and playing more than 1 season. They want to be a prep program for college programs, fine, but don't compare acquired talent to what just walks down the hallways.

As for Bradley, WV and Cleveland have had many college players, you don't have to a Bearette to move on to college out of that county.
