I will never fault parents for trying to give their child a chance at a better education. He was a very good player.

I agree, sucks but we have lost a lot of great ballplayers thru the years to baylor, boyd and such. If the parents can afford it i have no problem. Some understand its more than just about football.

Well it wasn't football tradition that brought him to Boyd from Marion. Marion's football tradition is as good, if not better, as anyone's

The Boyd team in 2016 should be competetive, but you lost 5-6 starters each way. I doubt you have an improved team unless Slicer is going to start a breakfast club and go round them up every morning. LMBO

True, but that was during a down time in the program as well if i remember right. Easier to keep them at home when you are successful. But at the end of the day if i thought my kids might be stuck here selling drugs or not making anything of themselves i would do the same. Education is just what you make of it. That private school diploma means a lot on a resume, plus i like the christian affiliation of the bucs as well.

Your memory ain't good LL. That Peardon Youngon was part of a very good group that ripped everyone including the Pirates. That group would have been special, but when that well off feller? Dad burnit, too many skillets causing trouble) but anyhow, he took his son & Peardon to BB. Well that is reportedly a HEEP reason Jasper quit playing BB because the powers that be didn't want the Bucs to beat the Warriors with Jasper youngons! Point is, his loss was huge & the Warriors had difficult time living up to what folkes round the jail had projected!
