Who wins the MVP for District 14AA? Who wins the Coach of the year?

I like Jackson from FW for MVP and hard to be undefeated season so Coach Fuller

Well as born2ball2004's statement last night implied I am SS bias and even though Jackson is an outstanding player and i have seen him twice against SS, once against Haywood and once against Whites Creek and that Whites Creek game he was a "baby Lebron" flat out took over. However, I think its only voted on by the district coaches so I am going to have to say Hughes or Smith from SS and Fuller as coach of the year. And that's all bias aside, that's from a RealisticFan perspective. Hard to knock undefeated regular season after losing Merriweather, Barford, Hicks and McNeal the last 3 years. I originally picked FW's Norment in the preseason and it is hard not to say coach hicks at Lexington if he gets the 3rd seed knowing what all he lost.

Good points. I've seen SS 3 times and they are so deep the kids you speak about may not get the minutes they need to get the numbers for MVP. Of course, depth is why they are undefeated. They run like 10-12 guys. Agree on Coach Hicks, they lost their entire squad from last year plus a few along the way this year.

any chance Bolivar sneaks up on SS or Lexington getting FW in the semis? The SS and Bolivar game was pretty close at SS and FW beat Lexington on a last second 3 at FW.

Yes there is a great chance. Everybody knows tournament time is different from reg season and both Bolivar and Lexington are playing extremely hard right now and a lot better than the beginning of the season. It will be interesting, its always good on a neutral floor

    • The only thing that was said at half time of the 45-0 game was Coach Story, he said: "I know y'all have been out there a lot, but kick-off team, y'all need to get down there faster!" Then he and the other coaches proceeded to go into the coaches office and we all went nuts!  It was the only time I can ever remember coaches not saying anything at half time. Definitely a great memory!!!
    • Boyd could actually be a grade below what he is now, but his parents didn't see the need to "redshirt" him like the other city school down the road would have pushed for....

    • When Danny was a senior he was the quarterback on the 82 team and also the placeholder on extra points. At the end of the game Heritage scored a touchdown with very little time left and went ahead 9-0. On the following extra point Danny rose up and threw a perfect pass to one of his receivers which made it 11-0 and Heritage's first win against Maryville since the series started in 77. Maryville fans were highly ticked off because they felt like it was rubbing salt in the wound. The following year when both teams met again at Maryville  the Rebels ran away with the game and after the first couple of touchdowns they went for two points after each score for a pay back and the score was 45-0 at halftime. The following Monday Bob Gilbert the sports eiditor for the local paper bashed Maryville in an article called the Humilation of Teenagers and tore into Maryville even though he was a graduate of the school. Those were the good ole days when Heritage had decent teams and the rivalry between them and Maryville was a fun event to see.
