Best Teams in Class AA

It's all about match ups, If Lexington matchup in the 1st round against anybody other than Westview they have a chance. They slow but other teams are too. It's only 2 running teams in West Tn and that's Haywood and Jackson Southside.

13 AA is not the same as it has been in years past. Looks like they will play South Gibson. If they play man against South Gibson, they lose. If they play a sagging zone like Huntingdon did, they have a good chance. South Gibson is hard to guard man to man with King and the big center.

Lexington looked distraught against Chester last night, so how does that fit in the region scenarios?

South Gubson will finish 2 in 13 AA and Lexington 3 unless something crazy happens.

I take South Gibson at home by double digits. Lexington looked bad defensively. Chester County shot over 50 percent, most of the looks helped by Lexington not closing out at all on Pipkin and Coleman. South Gibson is not the shooting team Chester County is but I think King is gonna have a field day. So will Neyman.

If Lexington is bad defensively already and they play man it will be ugly against South Gibson. If Lexington plays zone and makes South Gibson beat them from 12 foot out they have a chance. No way they play man and stop King and Neyman.

What happened in the Bolivar/South Side game? I saw the score in the JacksonSun this morning. Ugly! By the time I got there it was in the first quarter of the Lexington game.

Lexington plays zone 90 percent of the game, so the Hornets have to be prepared for that. South Side played last night like they were the second best team in AA. Now granted, they still have a long road ahead, but this was a good first step for them. Think if them and Haywood played tomorrow, South Side would win easily. Much different team now than in December.

Elizabethton has only lost 1 game in 2 years and has 5 seniors that have played in the boro all 4 years, a 6' 4' UT prospect, 2 forwards ETSU comits, one of them a 2 time Miss basketball selection with one trophy and should receive another one this season. The two guards will also play ball at the next level somewhere and are still entertaining offers. They have one gold ball and have a great chance to get another one. They won't make the same mistake they did last year.

Elizabethton will have their hands full again this year with Westview. Westview will trot out the most talented team maybe ever they have sent to the Boro.

I'd say there is a handful of teams that could win it. Obviously Elizabethton and Westview are among those teams. But neither is in the final 8 yet so we should probably wait a few more days before crowning the champion.

What makes Westview so special? I watched them play Liberty, South Gibson and one other team, i believe Bolivar. They are very discipline but they are slow and I think the PG was better as a freshman. Liberty played bad against them IMO and so did Bolivar. South Gibson could have beat them in Medina but SGC's coach never adjusted. They were fronting the post player and she ate their lunch. If you ask me AA is up in the air from the teams I watched last season in Mboro, its anybodys for the taking this year.
