District 2-AAA

Sevier County is still the team to beat until they're knocked off, even though their season ended earlier than we all expected last year.

West returns a lot, but Will Heflin won't be on the mound for us anymore due to Tommy John surgery. We will miss him there, but it was best for him not to pitch this year because he has a bright future ahead of him at UT.

I know our guys are hungry after letting Cherokee knock us out of the district tournament.

Don't know what all the rest of the league has this year. I know Jefferson County and Seymour both have new coaches, but I don't know really anything else right now.

How will the IMAC pan out this year?

The season starts tomorrow, if the games don't get rained out.  Jefferson County opens at Sevier County.  I'm anxious to see how the Patriots do this year.  We lost a lot of offensive productivity off last year's team.  We have some good players who will have to step up in order for the team to have success.

You guys are loaded with pitchers though. If you're successful this year, that's why. Our offense will carry us however far we go.

Weather permitting, West opens tomorrow at Cocke County and then hosts them on Tuesday.

Go Trojans!

Excited that baseball season is finally here. Should be an interesting year in the IMAC. Could be the most wide open this conference has been in a while other than Sevier County which is obviously the favorite. From the sound of it, west has a loaded lineup. I seeMorristown east being poised for another run in this conference. Jefferson County has some arms returning but I wouldn't say they are loaded. They do have something they haven't had in a while, belief and excitement for the coach they are playing for. From what I have heard, the new coach at jchs has the kids believing in themselves and the kids truly love playing for him

And are all in. Not sure if that will equate to wins for them this year though.

By a while you mean the Josh Warner era. They had all those things when he was there. They destroyed one of our best teams ever in the district title game. Jeff County's defense is good and our bats are good, so one will have to give when we play them. Sevier County should be the favorite, coming off 2 district titles. I see West and Jeff playing for second right now.

Jeff County beat Carter  3-0 last night.  They play Alcoa and White County today.  Seiver County seems to be back on track after falling to Jeff County on Tuesday.  Cocke County is Cocke County.  Haven't heard much about Seymour, South Doyle, or Cherokee.  East and West look good so far.

    • Began as a discussion, and evolved into a trainwreck...   Don't know how many of the TC "old guard" are left, but I feel for y'all.   Everybody has to get the last word... no matter the cost and sometimes the cost is high.
    • He may have possibly said that to get the best out of him. Back when I was in school word got out I was going to transfer and Coach Story popped off and ask Coach Wilson in front of the team if Maryville was going to get a jock strap in return on this trade. That got back to me and I got fired up and stayed just to show them up. Now today Coach Story is one of my best friends.
    • Dylan's Dad, I'm glad you replied. I wanted to reply but wasnt willing to take the bait. There were 20 wrestlers on the team. I may be mistaken and correct me if I'm wrong but I believe 5 of the 20 attend McCallie right now and one will next year. At most, there are/were 6 kids on that team who attend McC. That leaves 14 other team members who have ZERO affiliation with McC (outside of maybe some friends) who represented our state to the best of their ability and wrestled their butts off that weekend. That weekend was a first for Tennessee and obviously a small step in the right direction for us as a state. Congratulations TEAM TN BLACK!
    • Danny Wilson is the only one that come's to mind but I don't know where he is at now.
    • I am pro coach all day long but there are some knucklehead hires for sure.
