Hello everyone. I'm gonna try to give a pre-season update on my Tornadoes. The early reports are that we will be very physical. I'm talking 2014 type of physical. This is coming from the coaching staff. Huge across the line. I mean man child huge. This will be backed up by a 70 man roster. So depth is gonna play a significant role. The fullback position is loaded with the addition of moving one of our more athletic linemen into this role to accent an already solid core of returning fbs. Also the qb spot will be in the capable hands of our returning starter from last season. He will be handing it off to some very experienced and super fast slot backs. I think we are good on offense. Defense has huge, quick linemen and a solid linebacking core with solid dbs. In short. .....we gonna be tough.

After my original post I have run across some concerning information. One of our most experienced slot backs has moved out of state. I was excited to see him play this year but now it seems he will be playing in Ky this next season. The fullback position will still be strong but I'm concerned about the slot backs for the moment. No doubt Coach Bowling will take care of business and will field a very capable replacement. I also stated that our linebackers and defensive backs are gonna be solid and now there seems to be some shaky ground there as well. The most promising thing at this moment is that we should be able to play keep away and grind the clock with the huge line and solid fullback core. There is still plenty of time left to develop the other positions before the end of the regular season to make a strong run in the playoffs. Either way we will be tough.

Union City will always be a force in 1A or 2A. A 70 man roster is going to happen with the school size of a Union City. Think abou this for a minute. Union City has only been challenged in the Blue Cross Bowl when SP was there and had some pretty decent teams. Normal 1A talented teams from rural TN have NO chance against Union City.

I am familiar with the slot that transferred, very talented RB. It's a shame we had to lose him because his Dad got his panties in a wad. No player is irreplacable though.

From what I am hearing the style of play will be more of a power on power type of offense. All 3 backs will be maulers. Big fb with big strong hard running slots. We may not break many long runs but we will bust some guts. Not to say we won't be fast but maybe not as fast as recent years. Good ole smash mouth football. You better score quick because when we get the ball we gonna keep it a while.

Looking forward to seeing what UC does this year probably be another great year of football!! Too bad union city and henry county never play each other! Either way I love HC and always root for our 1a friends out in union city!!!

Thanks for the support. I also pull for the HC teams and wish you the best.
