Knoxsportsmom Sometimes we want to see what we want to see. I know exactly how he coaches and your perspective in these situations seems to be coming from a loving mom which I applaud you for. However I have had two sons there who were not the best players when they started out but ended up being stars and received honors including All State and Regional MVP. He pushed them because he knew they weren't giving their or all. In fact some of the other players told me they were harder on my boys than any of the other players. Both received scholarship offers and one played division one. And they now would go to war with Blevins if you asked him to. I've seen him make players put on their coats before they go outsideT hardly a person not caring about the welfare of a player. Tough yes but he won't let my kids play after they had been injured even after they were released by the doctors, so your claims while maybe truthful( seems like someone lied about the stomach kick) I would doubt it was absolute as presented here. During my years there he was overprotective of the injured and that's my experience so I guess we can chalk that up to perspective. And most of all your child didn't go thru anything that any other child didn't go thru through that's played at BHS(Dawg Days we no more than two a days at football-you are not playing church league anymore) they there it's just some knows it's takes more effort to succeed. BY THE WAY all the admin had to do was tell him not to practice .....yet downtown and everyone else knew what it was and other good schools in the area do the same. Finger story is crazy but believe what you want to believe. You have accomplished what you wanted and now you have what you want there at BHS, but I won't be funding it anymore until the admin changes. So in your mind, you came out with what you wanted, a good man as your new coach but a bad hire if you want to be successful. The admin had a chance for a home run hire in Jon Higgins and I know he had support on the committee. A man with UT ties, experience with Jodie Wright, done a great job at Central and they select someone who is on no ones radar screen in Knoxville for a basketball hire. But the admin with an AD with no playing or coaching experience makes a another choice that is a head scratcher and Blevins was no where around. And I'll leave one with you , check out another one of their hires and what teachers there are saying kids might have more to worry about than a basketball coach....DEHER. By the way, Alls well that ends well, you guys all seem to be happy and Blevins is happy. So life is good. And I expect to see a run down there at Buckhorn within a year or two for state and coaches are still telling parents, Blevins is where the kids need to go if they want to go to the next level. So I'm sure also that all those that didn't get to play at Bearden will get to play now that you have a new coach, so everything is going to be ok. Also I know what a noser is and I know what a duck walk is and i also know that most of his correcting events help to eliminate mistakes the second time around, sort of like life . I can tell you more about all this than you can ever imagine.......and I also still have friends in you must:)
