DeKalb County softball coach Danny Bond has RETIRED!

This came way out of left field. I just don't know what to think about it currently. Who should DC go after as their next head ball coach? This new opening will be an extremely coveted job. I find myself super curious if our administration will actually do a legit statewide search, or if there will only be a short list of local people as potential candidates.

Most rural schools like ours don't pay much. That will limit the candidates quite a bit.

It helps when it's a school with a rich softball history.

DCHS does, and Softball coaches do too. They'd rather coach at a place with a good history than at a place lacking it.

Would say his assistant will get first choice,if they want it.

I would hope his assistants would get the chance to get the Head Coach position!  Coach Fish certainly deserves it.  He has worked his butt off for the team for many years.

Well Coach Fish certainly got it. Personally I think he's the right man for the job. Great hire in my book. I just looked over his resume, he definitely has the credentials. He's had quite a bit of success coaching in college at the D3 and NAIA levels.
