I'm hoping for great things outta my eagles this week. We saw some good stuff Friday night. Hopefully we can keep improving with our heavy sophomore laiden team.

That team may be sophomore laden, but if so, those sophomores are standing on the sideline. The only sophomore who is making a significant impact is Sloan, and he wasn't a major factor offensively last Friday. I can only think of two other sophomores who are playing any snaps. You can spin it to call the team junior laden, but there will be more losses to graduation than some apparently realize (Carter, Crowson, Carter, James, York, Watson, Gardner, Wright, Hall are among the seniors).

Jackson County has played better and against better teams in my opinion.

They both have played Macon County. Westmoreland got shutout and Jackson County put up 42 points (but still lost).

They both have played Community. Westmoreland won by a touchdown and Jackson County won by 3 touchdowns. Also Cannon County beat Community by a touchdown and they lost by 30 to Jackson County.

Westmoreland has scored 0, 0, 12, 22 and 30 points in their 5 games.

Jackson County has scored 42, 37, 26, 42 and 14 in their 5 games.

I'm gonna say

Jackson County 28

Westmoreland 13

Great atmosphere tonight up in J-county. Beautiful place to visit. Jackson county has done an outstanding job improving. I thought both teams played hard. Loved our defensive stand there holding J-county 4 plays inside the 3 yard line. We just can't turn the ball over and win games. I'd would have loved to seen our #44 in the game during crunch time a little more in my opinion. A missed 2 point conversion. Was the difference in this ball game along with J-county hitting a field goal. By the way, how many years has the J-county coach been there? Just curious.

    • Well, your Big Western Hunt better turn up some Zebras to come graze on the Stones to make the jungle gametime ready again and make sure the plumber bros. still will come service the facilities at the Mecca. I hope your weekend is Fowl. Tell Rip hello from the Five Oh. Maybe the Gravedigger will catch a ride with Alphaniner on a flyover soon to BNA.
    • It’s not hearsay, just patently false. As one of those young coaches he apparently “ran off”, coach never once ridiculed or degraded anyone. Sure he challenged kids and coached them very hard,  but we have different definitions of you call that degrading. Coach Hammontree changed my life when he gave me the chance to work for him. I learned more about being a man and caring for the people around me in 4 years working for him than I did in 20 years of my life. No one sacrificed more than he did. I left Heritage because I felt there would never be the support necessary to help the program succeed. I’m tired of hearing people drag others down especially those they truly don’t know. Coach has moved on and a new coach is there. Just let the man live and root for the team.
    • Waiting on the Great One.   White Horse and Rip have a big weekend in the woods, and the Sheriff is working the overtime here.      Turkey season awaits…..Big Gobblers everywhere.
