Week 11: Coalfield @ Oneida

I see no way that coalfield gets trampled. If Oneida tramples us then they have improved more throughout the season then any team in 1A. I expect a good, hard fought football game that could go either way that CF pulls out in the end.

Just being a pessimist! I know CF can play with Oneida and will. Greenback and Midway has been only teams to slow our offense down but I know Oneidas got a good D so it should be interesting. I haven't seen Oneida so who's to say.

The Reservation ain't that tough. They have really nice people that put up tents outside and they'll feed you nice stuff if you ask them. When I was there, they had real fancy food, I ate some Roasted Lamb from one guys tailgate. I thought that was kinda odd for football food, but it was good nonetheless. When you get in there, they let you change your clothes in a really nice log cabin. Probably the nicest clothes changing station I've seen. The mow their grass regularly and have nice straight lines painted on the grass for you to play on. If you go near the scoreboard, you will probably find that black bird man hanging around telling fibs. So, as you can see, it ain't a very "intimidating" place. Quite nice actually. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit

We try to be gracious hosts but y'all missed an important part of the experience. We normally try to score more points than the visiting teams so that typically lessens how much they enjoy the visit. Not many get to come up there and drill us like y'all did. It has happened here and there but certainly not the norm lol. Come on up Friday and see us again.

Honest truth? GB played fundamentally better against Oneida in a lot of ways. We had far fewer penalties and I don't recall any turnovers against Oneida. If we had done that against Coalfield it may not have been as close. Oneida did not get home field advantage at our place in reference to calls sustaining drives like Coalfield. Some were of our own doing and some were definitely early Christmas presents. We had a little bigger playbook in the Oneida game too. Much more conservative vs Coalfield. One cannot compare these 2 games to get a feel for the upcoming game vs Oneida and Coalfield. I don't think Oneida's D gives up those short passes to Coalfield like GB did. I would expect their D to play those receivers a little more physical and tighter unless speed is an issue and they don't want to get beat deep. I am sure Lambert has a great defensive game plan with plans B and C as back ups. Curious to see how Oneida decides to play this. Pressure or containment? Aggressive or conservative? GB rushed with 3 linemen which at times looked ineffective and opened up lanes for McKinney to run in 2nd half. In hindsight maybe we needed more on the line if we were rushing and make our secondary just do their job. It's a chess match, but that worked better against Harriman. Pace was scrambling for dear life and for the most part we contained very well. Something tells me Lambert will adjust and try different things until he finds what works best.

I just know it based on what I saw and how I know our team. Not knowing Coalfield as well as a Coalfield fan maybe that wasn't a typical Coalfield outing either. If Coalfield had more in the tank or arsenal then forget what I just said in previous post, lol.

McKinney is the best player we have faced hands down.He played very well against us.Oneida will have a hard time defending him.With Lowe out it will put a lot of pressure on him to make plays with his legs more in this game.Oneida will have a great game plan I am sure.I don't think anyone in this game is more than 1 score better unless one has a few turnovers.Special teams will be very important in this one each team has to make good desicions in that regard.I am still leaning to the home team.Coalfield has the players to give Oneida fits if they can get in open field,just don't think they will.
