Henry County vs Centennial

OK here we go for the district championship. Got to be honest I don't think HC will win this game. That being said I know everyone is trying to get real focused for this one. Got my doubts because they dominated us for 7 1/2. Quarters last year. Last week lost to Brentwood by a huge margin. I understand we are young and there will be growing pains but we got one game for all the marbles in our district. We are at home and we always have played better at home. GO BIG RED!!!

I've watched HC and Centennial this year play Rossview. HC dominated Rossview. ( I will say Rossview had a terrible night, but no excuses). Centennial is not as good as their record. I saw them play Northeast and was not impressed. Rossview led Centennial ( at Centennial)   most of the game and lost it on turnovers. I know what their record says, but I think they're on borrowed time. HC wins by 14, easily.

Comparing common opponents is dangerous. Brentwood had less than 150 total yards against Centennial but a week later, hung 38 on HC.  Using that logic, Centennial should win Friday night.  I'm going with HC over Centennial but whatever the outcome, it will have nothing to do with how either team fared against Rossview or Brentwood.

You're right about comparing common opponents. Rossview beat Brentwood so Rossview  should have beaten HC, right? ( That didn't work out too well).

I have watched Centennial and they are a fraction of the team they were last year in terms of talent on defense and O line. Their  QB was scrambling all night and they had lot's of problems stopping the run. HC will have no problem in this game.

No problem is probably a little overzealous.  I would say a 28-24 Henry Co. win, in a hard fought game.

Agree about the comparison to last year's Centennial team.  They lost Dotson, who is at A&M and played against Alabama Saturday, and their secondary isn't as strong. The QB is an erratic passer so stuff their run and HC should be in good shape.

I think the Tennessean is a little off in their predicted score.  Centennial scored 56 on Dickson County (who hasn't?) but not broken 40 in any other game.  Likewise, the most points allowed was 31 against Indy and that high powered offense.  I like HC to win at home but expect it to be a somewhat low scoring game.

Centennial (8-1, 6-0 7-5A) at Henry County (5-3, 5-1)

When: Friday, 7 p.m.

This Region 7-5A finale lost some of its luster with Henry County’s surprising 38-13 loss to Brentwood, but a league title will still be up for grabs. Centennial running back Zyon Lee and Henry County quarterback Savon Stewart have combined to rush for more than 300 yards in their previous two outings.

The pick: Centennial 49, Henry Co. 42
