Who is the favorite?

Judging by last year and returning players, I will have to say MTCS.  I think a lot of teams in the district are young and rebuilding.  Should be a fun year to watch!

This district lost a lot of star power from last season. MTCS returns probably more than the rest of the district so I would agree they are the early favorite. Interesting to see how every team develops as the season goes along. We will know a lot more after the first of the year I am sure.

This is the youngest this district has been in 5 or 6 years. MTCS should run through it, but you never know where the surprises are. Fay town has a few young guys with a high ceiling but whether that coach they have can get the most out of them is a coin toss. and also , don't sleep on Huntland, regardless if DJ Taylor plays or not

As of 3 weeks ago, from A VERY reliable source, he is thinking of not playing. no reason to. he is Committed to WF. why risk it for something that isn't worth it. that last part is my take, I was only told his quote was " im not sure yet"

So this will be last year for District 9A as it will now become 8A. Sad to see such a great district come to an end. The district loses Forrest, Community, and MTCS while gaining Cornersville and Cascade. How do some of you feel about it?

Personally, I think it's a crock that every single district in A has to go through huge changes and lose old rival match-ups all because Memphis has of a bunch of upstart STEM and charter schools who may it may not even still exist in 5 years, coupled with Memphis public schools whose enrolment are so fluid and unstable that a school can go from an enrolment of 1000+ down to 300 and back up to 1000 in a matter of 3 or 4 years.

 

But that's just my take.
