Clay Co has been down for several years in football but the basketball team has been great! I have watched them every year for the last 3 years and they have had some good ball players just not won many games! The community always seems to support the small town and with it being a County School i am sure there are some great athletes coming through! With that said they may be all playing basketball! I played against them all through High School and the community always seemed to rally around sports!

They have some very, very good football players in jr. high.

They need a disciplined coach who cares about wins and losses to not waste the talent coming up. I didn't see those qualities in Brown's last stint.

I also believe the freshmen and sophomores are a good group.

Clay needs to absolutely make a good hire here.

And, maybe change the name back to Celina High School, because they haven't been good since they built the new school.

When i was in school it was Celina not Clay! I always say Celina to my son and he says dad CLAY!!! Heard they picked all region already! Have u heard that?

Got a friend up there and went to a basketball game with him and yes they have athletes. The guard I saw that night is one of the best looking athletes I have seen in 1A I believe his name is Key..... I told my buddy if he played at SP he would be an Allstate RB. Lol

I remember back in the late eighties and through the nineties WC had a great run in girls basketball by going to state like 13 out of 14 years or something like that and Celina was always there and competing. I had wondered what happened to them, wasn't aware they had changed schools

I think so.

I believe the story I read talked about him and his wife traveling. He would have to completely retire to do that, I would assume.

They are a County School now and i believe they bus Hermitage Springs in also and with that whole county you would think they would be a dominant School in all Sports! The boys basketball team made a deep run last year and prob will again this year! This District always yields some of the Best Basketball teams and Baseball teams in the state! Always competitive! They have picked them but not announced yet! I know who the ones are from Monterey but thats it! Monterey had 6
