Small ball (1A/2A) coaches making the big leap

Why do small ball coaches have difficulty making the jump to the 5A/6A programs?  I know there are some exceptions.

I know of several successful small ball coaches who have been successful mentioned as applicants for the bigger jobs but yet get passed over.

Other threads mention that larger school systems sometimes will not hire small school coaches.

Is there a stigma?

What are your thoughts?

I'm sure there is a bit of a stigma!

Heck up until recently there was a huge stigma around the players as well.

Not many colleges outside of the NAIA wanted much to do with a kid from a smaller high school.

Glad to see it's changing a bit.

At the end of the day talent is talent and I wish more recognized this..

Can you quantify this claim that "small ball coaches" have problems at the 5A and 6A classification? What is your opinion based on? Which schools, coaches, etc.?
