Going into real estate. That schedule is possibly the toughest in 1a next year.

I don't know the Malone, but this happens alot when someone knows they are leaving.  A little gift for the next guy.

Whitwell has the talent to compete.. this would be a great opportunity for a young offensive coordinator to get his feet wet at a head coaching spot.

Did i not read correctly that the 9th grade coach will take over as head coach.  Maybe i read wrong, would not be the first time.  I do know that one of the problems whitwell as well as other small schools face is that sometimes it is hard to bring a coach any from the outside because their are no teaching positions available.  I think coach Malone did not teach there but only coached.  Things like that can really limit the pool of applicants.

This happened to lesser degree to SP when a guy that left before the season or ever coached a game hooked the Pirates up with a 4a power in KY.  SP went 1 and 1 on the deal.  Ironically the wins were by the visiting team.   That said, I'm not sure Malone did this intentionally because he had been playing some tougher competition for Whitwell.  Of course this was upping the ante a good bit.

If those Whitwell player keep their heads up and get a good coach, they are going to sneak up on one of those top teams and rock their world.  People better be careful about rolling into Whiwuhl and piking in the game thinking its in the bag.
