mjuhb
Jerry Mathis already has a title has Assistant Principal. So i assume he can keep his seat on the board of control. And last who gets hired has head coach.
1DanLawson
Your headline is incorrect. Coach Olive HAS been named AD for 2017-2018 but has NOT been removed from his football coaching assignment. We have every hope and expectation of a very successful season with Coach Olive at our helm. I made the call.
PAS
Sounds like trouble is brewing in t-town. From whats going around Mathis was shown the door. Long overdue if its true.
rebelboy121
If what I was told he should not have been on the Board of Control anyway. If he is working on a 100 day contract, that is not considered full time.
PAS
Wonder why a 100 day contact? What purpose would that serve?
devilsden
Draw retirement and still get paid 1/2 his salary?
PAS
Sounds like there could be some legal issues as well.
wingman10
I applaud the decision on naming Olive as AD. I also thank Coach Mathis for his service as baseball coach, teacher, AD at THS. As far as the football program for 2017. I hope the best for THS, and have great respect for Coach Olive, and what he has done over the years. And I agree with all those who praise Olive as a molder of young men. However the past two win less seasons in football is not acceptable. I realize they were injuries, and probably off the field problems that I am not aware of. But THS was soundly beaten week after week, even by some of the weaker teams on the schedule. talent level has been the difference
volsrock
congrats to coach Olive, it is good that he is able to move up into administration. I have known him for many years and he is a legend in coaching and truly as good as a coach he is, he is even a better man. He deserves to go out on his own decision. Tullahoma has played some tough games these last two seasons and has to deal with a great deal of inexperience and a lot of injuries to key players, not making excuses but he will get it straightened out. More importantly he has been a consistent role model for his players and done things the right way

FridayMainEvent
Region 4 Lawrence Co. High School (Lawrenceburg, TN) Maplewood Comprehensive High School (Nashville, TN) Marshall Co. High School (Lewisburg, TN) Nolensville High School (Nolensville, TN) Spring Hill High School (Columbia, TN) Tullahoma High School (Tullahoma, TN) Tullahoma stands a good chance to make playoffs this year with only a 6 team region. Middle school has played well the past two seasons and freshman team had a nice squad last year. Coach Olive is one of the best at getting maximum effort from his kids. I feel Marshall County and Spring Hill will be solid this year! Spring Hill got on a roll at the end of last season as Jay Emmons proved to be a great hire. Will Hester is among the best Coaches around and heads the new Nolensville team. I've heard they've got some talent, but obviously they'll be young. Maplewood always has athletes but did lose some key seniors to graduation. Lawrence County should be improved. Spring HIll and Marshall are a lock. The other four to compete for the last two spots.
