NWhoopaholic
Can someone familiar with 14AA help me. Did something happen personnel wise with Bolivar in late January maybe? They had a solid win over Lexington, a thumping of Fayette-Ware and a 2-point loss to Southside but seem to have struggled since. Close wins over McNairy & Chester, much closer wins over Fayette-Ware and a woodshed loss to Southside. Then seem to struggle in District tourney. Will have the broadcast with Westview Friday night so any information is appreciated.
dmm88
Basically they go as #11 Hardaway, #15 Futrell, and #00 Brown go. Very streaky shooting the ball (the reason behind the lackluster play) teams know this so they just play a sagging 2-3 until Bolivar hits shots. Offensively determines how they play that game. If they are getting transition buckets, they are locked in defensively and forcing turnovers. If they struggle scoring in the half-court, things can go south quickly (bad body language) Westview should look to feed Graves early and often and let her get in a rhythm. NWhoopaholic
Thanks, dmm! Defensively do they press much & fall back in what?
dmm88
Yes they do, and they will fall back into a aggressive man to man defense. They will use 2-3 as well.

Talking to Bolivar faithfuls, the girls have checked out. They don't care, don't want to work, only a handfull showed up for the practice before the consolation game. The only one that played hard in tournament was Brown. Previously they did go as Hardaway went, but word is she is hard to coach. I expect another woodshed loss at Westview Edited February 23, 2017 by RealisticFan45

BullShark
I have talked to a few bolivar fans as well. Agree with Realistic, girls are ready for the season to be over. Westview will absolutely give a woodshed beat down to the Bolivar girls.
SuperFan14A
Westview should handle their business with this one pretty easily. That's a long road trip for Bolivar and Westview is a tough place to play.
tonym3143
Agreed Realistic...I'm from Bolivar and that's the vibe I get from our girls too. It's a shame knowing these girls won the west sectional 3 year ago, a championship run that included beating that Westview bunch
