Question for historians...

Morristown West has won 30+ games four years in a row and will appear in their fourth straight Class AAA state tournament. I'm sure this has happened before...could anyone tell me how many different programs have accomplished this feat and perhaps the years they did so?

I know the Greeneville Lady Devils did so from 2004-2007 while winning 124 games when they were still in Class AAA.

Just curious about it and thought I'd do a little polling research.

I'm sure Shelbyville did it numerous times in the '90s. They won like 115 in a tow at one point.

Bradford in Class A appeared 7 consecutive years in the state tournament...1995 through 2001. They had 30 or more wins each of those seasons, winning the gold ball 4 times during that stretch.

I can still remember the great Bill Haney on the radio saying that he thought that "Bradford is the best team here regardless of classification"...I think that he was right too. The year was probably 95' or 96', but those were all great 1A teams.

I'd say Meigs did it in the 90s won it 2 out of 3 years. But didn't lose a region game in over 7 possibly 11 years. Tommy Jewel coached them and 3 of the players played in A NCAA championship game. Pam Irwin and Rachel Powell played for Georgia and Misty Greene for UT. South Greene was their big Rival then in AA ball. Had those twin sisters. I think they may of played at Clemson.

Jennifer and Jeanette Davis were the twins. I know one of them played for Clemson but not sure if they both did. Now both are educators and coaches in elementary schools in the South Greene community.

I can tell you that at one time, Bradford could have beaten any team in the state regardless of class. Bill Haney was right.
