  1. We called MCHS. The AD from Loretto told MCHS the gate would not open until 6 pm
  2. My heart and prayers go out to the community of Huntland who lost their softball coach in an accident tonight. We have a healthy school rivalry. We also share in the pain of your loss of a coach and faculty member.
  3. Great Game in spite of the referees! If you looked at the fouls in the first half you could see that it was lopsided in the other direction. Fact is both teams are physical and both were fouling at some point. It just was not officiated consistently. Both teams played with a lot of heart. If I had to choose between this crew and the ones that never let the game flow, I'd choose this one. There is always the potential that these teams will meet again. It was an exciting game. Forrest is a formidable opponent.
  4. I agree! Heather Vann, a senior and Rachel Garland, a junior both drive their team in different ways. You can check their current game and career stats out at www.mcgbb.com . Both have high GPA's and are leaders on and off of the court.
  5. Kight is recovering from a knee surgery earlier in the year. She is not full strength yet but progressing every day. The other young lady, Howell, is playing with a torn ACL. She is just getting back on the floor some. I admire her for getting out there. They have both been missed and are doing what is needed to get back on the floor.
  6. Yep. Makes Moore Co and Forrest tied for 1st or 2nd. However one wants to phrase it provided no other losses occur. Forrest shot the lights out tonight! Maybe they got that out of their system. I have a feeling we will meet again in the near future. 45% from the 3pt line is impressive. Congratulations Lady Rockets. Ouch! That hurt Go Raiderettes! It was a loss, but it was not the end of the line. Lots of ball yet to play.
  7. Moore Co met up with Houston County in Eagleville at their Christmas Tournament on Monday. Beat them 55-36 Vann had 28 pts, Garland had 15, Raby 6 and several other players scored. Don't know if they couldn't or just didn't guard Vann. Their defense looked pretty weak and they were at a height disadvantage.
  8. Eagleville boys won, I believe. Moore County won by 18 or 19 points.
  9. Tennessean box score shows Raby 16, Garland 14, Vann 13 and a host of others scoring. This game may not have been a good measure of a Miss Basketball candidate. The three players above are all great players. However, it takes a team...all of them to produce wins.
  10. My family always enjoys reading your posts. You are usually spot on.

  11. Can't forget senior Amber Howell who came to the rescue playing post, forward and pt. guard at times last season. Howell was the key player in the sub state game that scored two free throws under pressure to seal the deal for Moore County. Added to the mix is a newcomer 6'0 Mikaela Bundy who will likely get some floor time to help in the post position. They also have a 6'0 freshman post. I believe Cascade lost the junior player, the big girl
  12. Nope. I am feeling like singing that anticipation song, or Jeopardy jingle. Will post if I hear.
