  1. LA fans should be glad CPA had 2 or 3 of their better players out, or it could have been worse. What's hard to understand is why they couldn't score on CPA's second string players in the 4th quarter!
  2. That's too bad, but no doubt he'll be fine by spring. Just a big disappointment for he and his team. Any thoughts on how effective his replacement may be?
  3. How strong is White House? How do they compare to recent White House teams? LA is has plenty size this year, but lacks team speed.
  4. Well I don't think any team in this district is unbeatable. However, saying it, is not the same as doing it. Good luck with that!
  5. What about East Lit? Are you totally dismissing their chances? I was figuring LA's two toughest remaining opponents were PC and East Lit. (A easier schedule this year has benefited them.)
  6. Boski, What are your thoughts on the outcome of this game? The Mustangs have some size up front, and on both sides of the ball this year. Maplewood is also typically big and tough in the trenches. How are the Panthers in the trenches this year? Also, how accurate is the Maplewood QB? If he's accurate, and makes good decisions, there's probably the potential for some good yards through the air. My prediction is if Maplewood is good in the trenches, and doesn't turn the ball over, they will prevail. If not, the Mustangs will earn a "W". I know Lipscomb, has not yet beaten the Panthers, but if recall correctly, in 2009 and I think one other year (maybe 2010) Lipscomb had the lead until mid to late 4th quarter. Then, one of the Panther running backs (usually that quick kid, Vanleer) would break a long run or two, and deliver the win for Maplewood. snd
  7. Is the Spann kid still at CPA, and on the team? If not, where is he now?
  8. Thanks for the updates. Did you happen to see Lipscomb Academy, or any of the other AA District 10 teams play?
  9. Is there a website that will post the results from this camp? If not, can someone who attends the camp, please post results, observations, etc..? (For us fans who can't be there!) Thanks!
  10. This baseball district is very weak. The question will be are they good enough to go very deep in the post-season tournaments.
  11. As much as I'd like to see the Mustangs pull an upset, I don't see it. Had they gone in as a higher seed, they might make it to the second round. There's always a chance, but not much of one. I think Lipscomb played a slightly tougher schedule, but not by a lot. The three teams on LA's schedule who are nomally tough to beat (Maplewood, Overton and Goodpasture) are all down this year. All of the teams Lipscomb beat had losing records. Lipscomb is getting better from the low last year, but I just think they'll come up short this year. I'm just hopeful, they bring their "A" game, and keep it close for as long as possible.
  12. How does this Giles Co team compare to the 2009 team who won the state championship?
  13. Yep, a very good band. I enjoy the various bands in 10AA, and miss the days when MOST schools/teams had a band. It's just a great part of the prep football experience IMO.
  14. I think this post says it best, as Lipscomb also respects GC and its coaching staff, and knows this will be a tough game. To answer a few questions that have been raised. The MustangFanPage is not being ignored because of a lack of fan support or shame over a "down" year or two. The MustangFanPage is not a school sponsored or affiliated website. Also, Lipscomb doesn't have a Quarterback Club or fundraising organization specifically for football or the MustangFanPage. This website was started, and run on a volunteer basis, but lately has been without someone stepping forward to commit to the time involved. I'm not sure what the story is on the guy who played bagpipes. I'll let someone else speak to that. Maybe "he" retired, or broke a lung or finger or such. The Mustangs still have plenty fan support and will bring a good crowd Friday night to be sure. Some of the best football games I've ever seen were between these two teams. I'm hoping Friday will be another one that makes the list.
