  4. Friday night was a great high school football game, mistakes and all by both teams. My main question is, what is the status of the big renovation project to Blankenship Field. Have been coming there for years and it seems to be stuck in the 70s except for the visitor side. Took some time before the game on Friday to explore the home stands and my does it need some updating. The field also look like it was in rough condition too. What is the status of the renovation? It is needed badly.
  5. From an outsider's perspective, the long and drawn out nature of this search does not seem to be in Coach Lane's favor. One would think that if he was gonna be the guy, they would go ahead and name him coach. Sure you have to interview anyone you think is suitable candidate, not doing so would be a disservice to the school, but to me, the longer it drags on, the less likely they are to name Coach Lane the head coach. Maybe it is all because Knox County has been out of school, but some mentioned a time frame of last week to this week, which makes me think they are dragging this out because they are searching for some one as opposed to trying to hire Coach Lane. With all the talk in this thread, which I will take as true since i do not know for sure, of Coach Lane being a certified, it seems the school system would need to make a special exception to hire him.
  6. You would have to think that a guy like Nix at Alcoa would apply and some other top assistants around here would apply. A lot of talk about Kevin Lane in the other thread but he didn't get it last time and there must be a reason. Why would that change this time around? Plus the fact he is not a certified teacher really hurts his chances, plus I have heard he isn't even teaching anymore. Don't know the guy but I am sure he is hoping like crazy to get the Clinton job. What other local head coaches around here that apply for it have a legitimate chance of getting it?
  7. Love this win for my school and especially for Coach Eddie Courtney. I also love this win because of how cocky the Indy fans were on here last week. To hear them talk about it, Farragut and Indy should've saved the money spent on travel buses and just mailed the silver ball to Farragut. Sure makes my heart warm when the clowns from middle TN are made to look like idiots on coachT. This game was the embodiment of the 2016 Farragut season. A team that never gave up and never quit believing, what an awesome year it was. Great win for Farragut and hopefully the team will carry this momentum into next season.
  8. That's a great question. I haven't seen Independence play at all this year so the only basis I could go off of is team stats. Those stats seem to show that independence has the better of the two defenses, and like i said, that is all I can base my thoughts on. Offensively though, Farragut seems to have a slight edge if you are just looking at stats, according to mxPreps. You may be right, this game could come do to who has the better defense. I sure hope it is Farragut.
  9. Your numbers are correct according to the Farragut football website. You are also correct that Farragut has never been to a state championship game since beginning football in 1947. I don't know that these stats really play much into the outcome of the game this Friday since Blade is at Independence where the talent level is seemingly higher than when he was at Oak Ridge(at least the last couple of seasons). I hope Farragut can pull this game off.
  10. Great win Friday by Farragut. Now I hope they do not over look South Doyle. It appears South Doyle is playing great football right now. Farragut better not take this game for granted or they will end up sitting at home next week. South Doyle has gotten hot at the right time, which is what makes high school football and the playoffs so much fun. I look forward to a great game Friday and hopefully a great atmosphere.
  11. Looking forward to a great night in Evensville tomorrow night.
  12. After what I heard about him missing the big booster dinner a couple weeks ago, and the conversation i have with one of their boosters. I am surprised they haven't made a change yet. The person I talked him said it was almost unanimous to get rid of him after missing that booster dinner.
  13. I hate that I won't be at this one tonight, should be a good game. Hope I will be able to catch the livestream on the football website. Good luck to the Admirals tonight!
  14. Certainly going to be a tough test for the Ads Friday. I hope they can pull it out. I won't be able to be there due to travel for work so I will be watching from the website. Good luck to the Wildcats as well.
  15. Wow that is crazy. The Admirals better be prepared to make the most of every offensive opportunity seeing that they will be few and far between. This game makes me nervous.
