We were told for sectionals that in odd years, Region 1, 3, 5 and 7 would host. In even years, Region 2, 4, 6, 8 would host. For Region 1 small schools, we have regionals at Sullivan East and sectionals will be at Knox Halls.

Greeneville won Region 1 on Monday

II'll take a stab. 1. Pigeon Forge - you got to beat the man, to be the man. Great coaching. I'm not going to rank anyone after this. You want a state championship in A/AA, you beat Greg Foreman. I believe he is one of the best coaches in the state and will have his wrestlers ready in February. Everyone else - Gibbs - new to A/AA but 7 AAA regional medalists are coming back. Great coaching. Forrest - returns more points (86.5) than any other team in A/AA, 4 returning state medalists. Greenbrier - could be a shocker this year. Tough team. 4 returning state medalists. Greeneville Harpeth - 4 returning state medalists Signal Mountain - coaching changes make this a wild card Red Bank, White House, Alcoa, Hixson, Fairview - I don't know enough about these guys to make a call but they are all coached by great coaches who will have their teams ready in January and February. I just got an e-mail from Greenback asking for matches. So, it seems they are still alive and kicking.

The dead period for high schools is from June 25 until July 8. Our facilities are closed. There may be some club practices that are occurring around the area if they have an off-site location to hold practice.

Coaches get bracelets in their packet for managers. Two for each school plus one for each coach registered with tssaa.

Darren Reese and Tate Russell are our two sports reporters for the Greeneville Sun. They are awesome. Their coverage of Greeneville and Greene County sports is unbelievable. They do a great job on all sports. They are great with Twitter updates and coverage in the newspaper. We are really lucky to have them.

Grainger is new to wrestling this year. At least, we were told to save room on our schedule for them when we attended the rules meeting. As far as Boyd-Buchanan, they can choose to stay public and follow the rules just like Knoxville Catholic has chosen to do. I don't have any information concerning what Boyd-B has decided to do. They are not forced to move.

Greeneville will host their girl's tournament on 1/21 alongside the guys, not 1/20 as a separate event.
