  1. Here is where schedules and scores will be updated.
  2. Signal Mountain is no longer in the Owls bracket. They withdrew from the tournament last week.
  3. Here's the thing. We've seen the scenario before when everyone comes out of the gate singing Ooltewah's praises. Of course I'm an Ooltewah fan, and as an alum, they're my team! But, let's see a few weeks of the season. It's so hard to tell anything after pre-season games...even after early season games. The Red Bank - Ooltewah series will be good, and it'll come down to who shows up on each night. These matchups are where I wish we could District teams play each other 6 or 8 times. 3 to 4 games in a back -to-back series is the best way to determine the better "team." BUT, we don't have that...so it comes down to who shows up on which nights. Red Bank has the proven pitching, but you can only ride 2 or 3 guys so far. This series will come down to offense. Especially in the first game when Baugh pitches for Ooltewah. Whoever swings it will win. And trust me OwlsuWish, 90 miles an hour just means it goes back out that much faster. At the AAA level, 90 is good, but it doesn't win championships. I'd rather have an average pitching staff and a better than average lineup than a better than average pitching staff and an average lineup...in high school at least. Who knows...a lot can happen between now and then...I can't wait to get out there and see each team! That's the best level of baseball in this city by far!
  4. Guys you just need to ignore posters like Owlsuwish22. He's either a player on another team, a senior that got cut, or a disgruntled parent. Every year there are two or three of them on these boards. If you'll read all of his posts (all 4 of them), he hasn't said anything that's made sense. Just running his mouth trying to get to you. Just ignore him.
  5. I wasn't trying to start up that whole argument. I was just saying that I think Red Bank and Ooltewah will be a good matchup. I know it's not productive to compare hypothetical situations. So please don't interpret my post as stirring the pot. And also, I don't think it's a given the Owls will run away with the district. They should be the favorite though. I do believe they will be able to put runs on the board, but do they have a deep enough pitching staff to win those Monday-Tuesday district games against RB? They'll have to be strong both nights and the offense will need to produce.
  6. What if Walden was going to be at Ooltewah where he is supposed to be? They would definitely make a run at state. I think they still can as long as they can score enough runs. As an "old Owl" I've got the Red Bank/Ooltewah games marked on my calendar. Good to see you on here Catsbackr!
  7. Lots to be determined on the mound this year for the Owls, but my gut says they score enough runs for it not to matter until the post season.
  8. Interested to see how Mulder does in his first year at Hixson. He comes to HHS after "training" with one of the best coaches in the area - ever! I think he'll do well.
  9. All I know is that it's going to be a good year for my OWLS!
  10. This is an interesting matchup for sure. Several years out of the high school football scene, I'll definitely be there. Looks like Ensworth is the favorite down in Chattanooga.
  11. All I know is these single-A schools are the area's best CoachT posters! Some of these discussions between CSAS and Temple and Grace and Lookout Valley are the best EVER! I'm looking forward to the CoachT.com fights almost as much as the baseball games!
  12. Ok, we've got Central, Ooltewah, Red Bank, and Soddy Daisy. This district always has its favorites, and then in the end it never matters. I see this as a three-way battle between Red Bank, Soddy, and Ooltewah. Central could be the spoiler if they have a good game on the right day! Coach Garland at Soddy always talks his guys down, but always ends up with one of the better teams. Massey at Ooltewah lost some key players, but have a lot of young talent. Red Bank is going to have some good pitching, but can they score runs? I could say more to stir the pot even more, but I wont for now! Let's hear it! Results on opening day.: Ooltewah 16, Grace 2 Baylor 16, Soddy Daisy 2 (Soddy wore the wrong jersey) Red Bank 7, Ringgold 5 Hixson 5, Central 0
  13. I've been waiting almost a year for this time! Let the smack talking begin!
  14. Yep, we're here! I think this could be a great thing! Here is a good article about it from inside the Padres system: http://padres.scout.com/2/653198.html
