  2. How did the scrimmage go last night against Grace? I figure it should have been a decent game...

    10A vs 9A

The overall talent level is there this year for McEwen to be very competetive in the region... That being said, they play an extremely weak schedule, year after year, that does nothing to prepare them to win come tournament time. You couple that will very little scheming, below average decision making, and literally no player development and what you end up with is a team that annually gets 24+ wins in the regular season and gets beat 1st/2nd round in the region... This is evident if you look at our success against 9A since the privates left, the weak competition in 10A, and our amazingly good record out of district. How many did MTCS lose last year... I saw them play once at CA, they looked pretty tough...
  4. Are Brandon Walters (Walters State/ Howard) or Jaylen Barford (Motlow State/Southside) playing ball anywhere in 2015... I heard Barford to Arkansas and Walters was looking a football or basketball... just wondering... These two were so much fun to watch at the hs level a few years back...
  5. Best based on "enrollment": Mitchell Best in TSSAA: Oak Ridge if big boy plays Best in state: Hamilton Heights
  6. Class AA basketball is really down across the state compared to the past several years in regards to having top tier teams... I would imagine you will see Fulton, Brainerd, and CreekWood as somewhat locks to make it back... That being said none of them will stand out in comparison to other possible teams like Upperman, Douglass, Elizabethton, etc... It will be somewhat of a open field across the state, but unfortunately it will be boring in general come March in Murfreesboro... Almost the same can be said for class A.
  7. Waverly - 4 TDs McEwen - 0 TDs Mainly starters for first half, JV/second team for second half... 1st Quarter Waverly - 1 McEwen - 0 2nd Quarter Waverly - 1 McEwen -0 3rd Quarter Waverly - 1 McEwen - 0 4th Quarter Waverly - 1 McEwen - 0
  8. Best coach that I have had the oppurtunity to watch in Tennessee High School basketball over the past decade. Wish he would have knocked off Hamilton last year...
  9. It will be tonight in McEwen... HC wins they win the district... HC loses Lead wins the district Districct looks like: 1) Houston Co /Lead Acad 2) Lead Acad/ Houston Co 3) Nashville Christian 4) McEwen 5) East Rob/ Jo Byrns 6) Jo Byrns/ CA/ East Rob 7) CA/ East Rob Like I mentioned above HC/Lead will depend on HC/McEwen game tonight. East Rob/Jo Byrns/ CA will depend on ER/CA game. McEwen has struggled with matching up with NCS. I am excited about them being on the opposite side of the bracket. I feel that McEwen has about as good of a road as possible to the district championship. I'll take Houston Co to win the district as they are 1) senior heavy, 2)decent this year, and 3) have never lost a district tournament game in their new gym. This being said there are about 5 teams that could take home first this year... District and region are down this year... unfortunately...
  10. East 1A - Grace Christian, Hampton East 2A - Fulton, Brainerd East 3A - Bearden, Maryville, OR Middle 1A - Columbia Academy, Loretto, Fayetteville, Clay Co Middle 2A - CreekWood, CPA, Waverly, East Nashville Middle 3A - Brentwood, Station Camp West 1A - Mitchell, Union City, Humboldt, BTW, TCA, Middleton West 2A - JSS, Lexington, Westwood, Southside, Westview West 3A - Hamilton, Southwind, more Memphis schools Class A west Tennessee will run the show... Class AA will be really balanced across the state... Should be really good state tournament with comparable teams Class AAA - Should be Hamilton's run, but besides them could be open between West and Middle, East is a little down compared to last years OR team that made it Just my opinion...
  11. Notice I said weaker... not weak... their is a difference... other good west teams would be Westwood, Westview, Douglass, and maybe Fayette Ware... That being said I could line you up several teams in middle ten that are just as good...
  12. typically true... but not over the past 3 years... AA in middle has been ligit with their top 10 very competitive against top 10 west tn teams... West Tenn 2A is weaker this year than it has been in a while and might not be as strong as middle... I have been all over tennessee to watch ball, so I would say I have an educated opinion in regards to this... That being said, it will be anybody's guess who wins 2A this year... It's very balanced...
  13. Should be a great game... Really tough to call... Stewart County is at home (i believe), but Waverly has the week off to prepare since SC plays a tough in-region game against Fariview this week and will not be able to hide anything... Stewart has the more complete team Waverly has the athletes on offense Stewart County gets the edge in coaching adjustments for time begin Waverly gets the benifit of being off Great early season region matchup... This being said I will go: Waverly 34 Stewart County 20 I think it will really depend on the big play from Waverly... If Stewart can play smart defense and wrap up eliminating the big play I feel they will win the game... I just believe Waverly will get one or two big plays and seperate the game...
  14. I'll say: Bruceton 32 McEwen 13
