  1. I agree about the cramping for OR, at one time there were 4 players down at the same time. That is on the coaching/training staff. I hate to see a young man get injured no matter who they play for.
  2. He had one awesome catch over the middle and one catch on a slant he made good yardage on but other then that I didn't see much more then that. He is not being used like he should be by the OR coaching staff. Has two OR fans that sit behind us and said the same thing and they were pretty upset at how the OR coach was pooch kicking on all kickoffs. Like I said it was my opinion, no doubt he could be a more special player if he was used right.
  3. Smoked by the other team, now that is funny. After all the turnovers and interceptions and all the penalties against the Tribe you win by 13pts. You know beyond a shadow of a doubt if it wasn't for the miscues by DB then this game would have been one to come down to the wire just like in years past. Not a poor loser at all, we didn't play well and still had a chance to win the game in the second half but didn't execute. Just another game that we can learn from our mistakes.
  4. Oak Ridge has a good team and did what they needed to do last night to win the game. With DB having 8 turnovers last night, that will not win you a lot of games. From my opinion Oak Ridge did nothing to contribute to any of the fumbles that DB lost. You take away 2 fumbles inside the 5 yard line and the interception in the endzone on a pass that was under thrown and the muffed punt you have a different ballgame. People can say what they want and pound their chest all day long but the officials had a big part in the outcome of the game in the first half. Im still am not impressed with Higgins and the Graham kid did a lot of damage last night and is probably more important to the team then Higgins is(JMO). Oak Ridge didn't beat DB no more than DB beating themselves, you take away #5 and #22 then you have a very average Oak Ridge team. Like I said that's my opinion and I own it, Good luck to the Wildcats and Indians the rest of the year.
  5. Somebody needs a diaper change, all I hear out of this post is jealously.
  6. I can see the DB faithful is excited for the season to start because of the line this morning for season tickets that wasn't picked up. Heard a few say they were in line by 3:30am this morning to make sure they got tickets. I really hope the secondary has improved and learned to look for the ball instead of reading the receiver. I do believe the Tribe will be better this year!!!
  7. Just giving my opinion from what I am seeing played out tonight so far. They have the talent for sure but they are not disciplined enough. Im really not that big of a guy.
  8. 1. Not very disciplined at keeping assignments on defense. 2.Neither team can cover the middle of the field on pass coverage. 3. Players from both teams are out of position and that's why you have so many big plays. 4. Maryville is as good on defense as they are on offense. 5. The coaching at Maryville is the biggest difference. Maryville would win against either one of these teams HANDS DOWN!! How is that for reasons?
  9. Almost 700 yards of offense in the first half, where is the defense? Neither team can cover the middle of the field on pass coverage at all. Been reading on here how great these teams from Division II are all week, Im not seeing it. Maryville is very disciplined and don't make the mistakes I am seeing tonight out of these two teams. This is MY opinion and I own it!!!
  10. Good Luck to Maryville this year, watching MBA and Brentwood right now and all I can say and its my honest opinion is Maryville would beat either one of these teams. They both are all offense and no defense where as Maryville plays defense just as good as they play offense.
  11. Watching the game and all I see is all offense and no defense from either team. Maryville would manhandle either one of these teams, they can play defense along with their offense. JMO and I am not a Maryville fan.
  12. Just for the record when I was a student at DB, most if not all the Coaches were Physical Education,Wellness or Drivers Ed teachers. GC had only the football players in PE class and always was in the weight room or doing some running. There was a few coaches that taught other classes such as History and Economics, and I remember a few coaches that had Study Hall and ISS(IN-SCHOOL SUSPENSION). WaCoJaCo I still agree with all you say my friend.
  13. WaCoJaCo you can argue with these people til you are blue in the face but true longtime DB fans know for sometime it has been the defensive side of the ball. I personally played for Coach Watson when I played at DB, he knew how to game plan he knew how to make adjustments when needed and he knew how to get the most and best out of his players. Whenever you passed him in the halls during the day or had him as a teacher he would always remind you of your assignments and kept us on our toes. He had more impact on this schools tradition then any other coach that has been on the staff including Coach Clark. Now everybody is seeing how much of an impact he had and how much he made the others on the coaching staff look good. This football program has suffered since his departure and it is simple to see. Coach Watson had the respect of players and they wanted to bust their humps to not disappoint him, where is that respect now? The current coaching staff don't have the experience to teach these young men like it was back in the day, is it far fetched to say that Coach Watson led this schools football team for many years while Coach Clark got all the praise? The true downfall of this program is when the day Coach Watson exited the program and it is plain and simple and a lot of Kingsport fans know beyond a shadow of a doubt that it is time for change. I am a DB Alum and a die hard fan of the Indians and always will be but as the Great John Ward said one day....IT IS TIME!!! ROLL TRIBE ROLL!!!
  14. I just didn't show up,I have been here reading for years just decided to get in on the talk. I know a lot that has happened since the AD took over from Wes Moricle. A lot of fans for DB Football that has had season tickets for many many years had their season tickets taken away when the new part of the stadium was built. They were not giving a reason why and then forced to take different seats when tickets were re-issued. These so called tickets were given to high profile people with in our City Government and also to BOE personall free of charge, yes I said FREE OF CHARGE. So while I pay for season tickets these people get special treatment, there is a lot more going on with the Athletic Department that a lot of people dont know. If people don't think that politics are not playing a part in what is happening to this great school then we have a lot of blind people in the City of Kingsport. Like I said change is needed and it needs to start with the AD and then continue on with other positions.
  15. I have to agree 100% with WaCoJaCo on this one, I was at every game this year whether it was Home or Away except the Blackman game. When your defensive backs Coach cant teach you to even cover a sandwich with a piece of bread then you have troubles. I seen many times throughout the year where he would throw a fit on the sidelines towards his players but if you cant correct the problem in practice by teaching them what he wants then to learn then it is not on the players. Im no way any type of coach but I know how football works and when a team figures out you cant cover the middle of the field then that's where they will attack. Teams whipped us through the middle all year because our Defensive Coaches did NOTHING in adjustments all year to correct the problem. And yes Coach Clark went through something terrible with the passing of his daughter and I don't wish that on any parent but the fact is the decline of DB Football has been happening before the tragic event. There needs to be a change from AD and Head Coach all the way through the coaching staff. Just my opinion and nobody else.but like I said the whole problem this year was 100% DEFENSIVE ISSUES.
