  1. Will the RoaneSports.com crew carry the game on the radio? I owe those guys some hospitality if/when they make it up our way. I never had the chance last year to say that they do a great job covering all the schools in Roane County. We would like to listen to this one if it's on the air. We are at Tellico, so we won't have BBB coverage. Good luck to both teams, should be a good one.
  2. The loss of 3 yr starting QB Devin Smith, RB Nathan Silver, FB G. McReynolds and TE Andy Eddins will be tough to replace. Along with several offensive linemen that opened holes and provided great leadership over tge past 3 years. That being said, the backfield should be one of the top backfields in the state. I'm amazed at how much bigger and stronger this team looks after going through a very intense off-season training regimen. Look for the Rams to be very strong in the running game and the defense is looking extremely good. Linebackers are as solid as I've seen at GCA, and BIG. If we can get consistent QB play, this team could make some noise in November. All that being said, it's a long, grueling season and it depends on everyone staying healthy.
  3. If they intend on playing D-I, that would most likely force Meigs Co to the Chattanooga district. I'm not up on the rules on this stuff. Will TSSAA shuffle the districts this year or next if CC is playing in D-I? Regardless of the shuffle, CC will become a member of one of the toughest football districts in the state, if they play D-I.
  4. Congrats to both guys, great effort every play that I could see. Watched them play at GCA and Oneida. Well deserved.
  5. Congrats to our District 3 rivals on your All State selections. All were very much deserved. OnB Is your son or any of the other guys getting any looks?
  6. I hope everyone made it home safely last night. What a game! There had to be a winner, and the better team won last night. Congrats to the Yellow Jackets and good luck next week. I'm sure you will do well. As far as the game goes (I haven't read anything since before the game, so forgive me if I repeat a thought or two), GCA had no answer for the precision running game of TC. The plays were slow developing, but it didn't matter, no answer. #5 was better than what I saw on film, a great RB, and has another year. Also want to acknowledge the coaching staff of TC led by Coach Creasy. They had a great scheme and you could tell they did their homework. From my spot, that's the best prepared staff that I've seen play GCA. I hope everyone was treated well, it was a great HS atmosphere, and the game was equally electric. Good luck to all of you guys in the off season, I'll catch up with you next year.
  7. It's almost that time. All the preparation is complete (almost), time to play. I hope all of you, Trousdale fans and all of your "honorary" jacket fans have a safe trip to and from Knoxville. I trust that you will be treated with great respect and enjoy our hospitality tonight. This is going to be a great game. Win or lose, this is what HS football is all about. We will be streaming the game live at www.gcafootball.org for those that can't make the game or live out of the area. Crow says we're "homers" and he's right. But, we try to throw in a little humor along the way. We would love to have you log on and listen live.
  8. Our DE's go in the gym after practice and take turns plucking dollar bills off the top of the backboard. They do it until one of them miss, winner keeps the $$$. Then they go out in the parking lot and bench press a couple of Camry's, all just for fun. One last thing, I bet my dad could beat up your dad...lol All in fun.
  9. None taken on the original post, I appreciate the kind words. As far as being a homer, I would say we are on the same level. Like I said during Oneida week, they (radio station) are crazy enough to stick an open mic in front of me and I run with it. We have a good time. The only instruction I was given before we started this thing last year was not to hold back the emotional side of the game. The land of milk and honey TD call still cracks me up every time the big guy lets it rip...lol
  10. Yes, that's Bob Bell's TD call. Our first broadcast at FRA, he pulled that one out and he's used it since that game. Oneida scored 14 on the defense, both of them on long passes and busted coverages. Their other score was on a kickoff return. Never could run the ball.
  11. And they won't score 35 on Green's defense.
  12. Our line will impress you Friday night.
  13. I agree, stats mean nothing Friday night.
  14. Strength of schedule: GCA 38 TC 42 We can do this until Friday, it won't change guys. Our strength of schedule is the same.
