  1. All District team, well this is just what I have seen and is just my opinion. Rhea has the best outfielder in district and the twins are very good. Warren has a very good catcher, shortstop and 2nd baseman.. White has a good shortstop. Cumberland's 1st baseman is good. Cookeville's pitcher is good and they have a good catcher. No one from Stone really stands out that I remember. I believe the all district team is voted on by the 6 district coaches and stats should play a big part in the selection. Again this is just what I saw and just my opinion but I think Warren has the best team, Rhea has the best player and Cookeville the best pitcher.
  2. Yes I got to see the Warren County game as well against Cookeville and they did play like they were on a mission. I saw them earlier in the year and they looked like a different team. I loved the effort and approach Warren County had on every play, they attacked the ball at the plate and defensively they were making plays, loved watching them. They played with intensity and at the same time they were having fun. Hats off to the Warren County coaching staff, they had those kids ready to play.
  3. Cookeville bounces back after letting the Warren County game slip away with wins over Stone 5-2 and Cumberland County 5-1.
  4. Well wrongway it looks like Warren County is in the drivers seat, lol. I have to give it to them they looked beat twice but they never gave up, they hung in there and battled back to pull out the win.
  5. Yep my mistake, Cookeville travels to Warren County, would love to watch this one. If Warren continues to play they may make a statement that the district this year belongs in McMinnville.
  6. Warren County beats Cumberland County today 16-0, wow that's a statement. I think Warren County may be undefeated in the district, they are looking strong. District should shape up a little this coming week with several district match ups. Warren travels to Cookeville on Tuesday and White County on Thursday and an undefeated week would put them in the driving seat. Any thoughts?
  7. Cookeville scored a couple early and kind of cruised. White scored 2 in their last at bat with help from the Cookeville defense. Cookeville pitcher didn't look as sharp but still managed 13 SO's according to the paper. I think Dodgen is good for White County, the defense made most of the plays although Cookeville's bats didn't light it up. I wouldn't say White outplayed Cookeville, but they did play with them, both teams made a few mistakes and neither team hit the ball very well.
  8. Cookeville bounces back from Cumberland loss with 6-3 win over Rhea County..
  9. Cumberland County's spanking of Cookeville was just hard to watch. Cookeville's defense was terrible, counted at least 10 errors. I will say Cumberland can hit. I bet Cookeville pitches their #1 pitcher next time. Cumberland looked good, their pitcher was not over powering but very effective. She had a shutout going until Cookeville scored 3 in top of 5th with a couple HR's. Cumberland's defense made the plays they should have, all in all Cumberland just outplayed Cookeville and I think they are a team to watch in the district.
  10. I have heard Warren Co. has a strong group returning so should be good, White Co. struggled at times last year but return a couple of good pitchers without seeing either played yet I would have to give the advantage to Warren Co. based on last year. Cookeville graduated 6 players that were 3 or 4 year starters, they are in a rebuilding year but played well enough to beat a very good DeKalb Co. team in their opener. Cumberland Co. I think will be a tough game for Cookeville but I think they will pull out a close one.
  11. Who won the Rhea Co./Warren Co. game?
  12. District play may be interesting, not sure who will be the favorite. Rhea Co. and Warren Co. both played well last year and return some key players. Cookeville went undefeated in district last year but lost a lot. White Co. Stone Memorial and Cumberland Co. could move up to challenge this year, not sure what they lost to graduation.
