Gerry Bertier
Baseball Tonight discussed it and showed he was leaving it high and over the plate and that doesn't fly in the ML. Does anyone know if there are any high schoolers that consistently throw a knuckleball?
HTV
That's the issue I think. He doesn't hit 92 any more. He is their 4th starter ... just got to get to the heat of the summer so the knuckler will dance. RA hasn't been in the 92 MPH range since his junior year at UT. He threw way too many pitches in college and his fastball has been in decline ever since then.

Perfection11
Why in the heck is he throwing a Knuckleball?????? Wasnt he a pwr pitcher in college?? Yes he was a power pitcher, after he was drafted in the 1st round, doctors noticed he was missing his ulnar collateral ligament in his throwing arm (right) and he needed surgery. This and what many who are close to him hint at "over pitching" while at UT (pitching too much with not enough rest) have led him to find alternative ways to be successful in the MLB. Kudos to him, making that transition is very very hard, shows the talent he is. wish him the best. P.S. had a great year with the Mets this past season...
