That's going to be a task. I'll insist that you have representatives from Haynes, Meigs, Howard,Duncan, and TIS/TPS, for it to be truly official.

Keith Davis was from Overton but if my memory serves me correctly he graduated with the 1981 state championship team & the NIL folded around 1979.

I think Davis was a sophomore on that '81 championship team. I definitely remember his being on the '82 Overton team that helped christen MBA's then-new stadium, and I'm pretty sure he was in the backfield in 1983 when MBA played at Overton.

Another good back around this time (he was a few years older than K. Davis, so he may have had at least one year in the NIL) was Pearl's Lavoisier Fisher. His announcement on Channel 4 (was WSM then, now WSMV) that he planned to attend "the University of UT" remains a classic in local Nashville television sports history.

Charles "Fruit" Bell was the main back at Overton in the fall of '82.

Lavoisier Fisher last I saw him was working for Bridgestone in Lavergne. Confident guy :justwrestle:

First of all, what a brilliant list! Really well done.

The only school I think you missed is Cumberland... soem of their top players were Walter Nipper, Bobby Woodroof, G. P. West, Carlton Flatt, Bruce Bowers, Danny Hunley, Jamie Pride, Leo Pascual, and Walter Buck (his jr. year was Cumberland's final year; he finished at Maplewood). DelaWarr could probably add more Cumberland names, if he's around.

I would have included Terry Potter from Goodlettsville; he was a captain at Vanderbilt.

Cary Curd at Two Rivers was a very talented quarterback on their final team.

I'm amazed that you remembered Wallace.

The only Duncan athlete I can recall is John Bennett, who was a coach and athletic director at MBA for many years.

Again, I bow in your direction.

Keith Davis graduated in 1982 so he was a senior on the fall '81 team. Charles "Fruit" Bell was the main back in fall '82.

I could have sworn Davis was older, but I could be wrong. I did find a link on TACA that shows a Keith Davis in the Class of 1984 at Overton.

One way to figure is out is if anyone remembers if he went JUCO, or if he redshirted at UT. He lettered 1985-88 at UT; if he went the JUCO route, his first year out of high school should have been 1983; if he went straight to UT and redshirted, his first year out should have been 1984.

Jacob can "feel" when someone touches his legs, but there is still no movement.  His parents are beginning to prepare for him to be moved to the Shepherd Center in the next few days.  He will be there in Atlanta for 30-45 days.  Im sure he will receive excellent treatment. Please continue to pray for healing for him and if you are so moved, please contribute to the gofundme link above to help in any way you can.  The go fund me is doing well, but this is going to be a very long road for these guys Im afraid..
