Booger is right about him being part of the ND success. It won’t happen that way at Central.

Mr. ambassador, I greatly thank you for your words. But your words may be hollow. Now whether or not he gets this job I want conform it or deny it but sir Coach Jones will come back and take this team possibly further than before. Why, because he has done this before while at Central which some seem to forget. You know I think Coach Jones may seem like this is unfinished business that he wants to complete . He knows how to complete this. If it is him then he would be more than welcome back home. By the way he picked us some knowledge from your neck of the woods also. He can get the job done. We would welcome him with open arms. You can not predict what will happen or not just like I can't, but I will bet on Coach Jones, sir,

I understand you want your school to do well, but my statement was comparing what he’s been a part of at Notre Dame to what Central will be. Yes, I do know what will happen. Central won’t be going to the semifinals, much less the state championship game like he has done at Notre Dame. That’s not a slight at him at all. That’s just the facts about where Central is as a football program. They will never be able to compete against teams like Greenville. It’s just a tough gig for anyone on highway 58.

the dude that just left has made his livin on one year stints...tho he did park at Harrison for 2 seasons.....but that was his first HC gig..

couple positives up on 58 for sumone with a HC itch...one is that Hamilton County PUB teachers just got a raise along with being able to add another year or 2 of state tenurin before bein run off before another 2-8 or 4-6 seaon shows up

second is that the region has Madisonville, Collegedale South, Hixson, and Howard School of Academians and Technologist in that region......Anderson or ER probably wins the region every year and with 4 teams in that region gettin a first round state game.....even Booger could trip into that one post season game

then as the Great Ambassodor from the home of Skillets and Cornbread says.....you gonna get the likes of Greenville or Elizabethton to end your season in the 1st or second round every year...or Anderson

the Harrisonites ant gonna stand for no one to hang around their long enuff to get that once in every 15 years 8 win season.....

Booger nose sum fine folks over there in Harrison and would like to see them enjoy sum consistant winnin seasons  FB.....but just dont nose bout that happenin.....proven coach killer......then again could be wrong.....look what Fant has done for ND

Booger just sayin

Any updates on coaching search? I would hate to see Central fball decline again

Heard maybe today. Depending on the school system. Actually the search is less than Red Banks and Ooltewah searches that took place. They have forwarded there name. Unfinished business lies ahead.

    • Personally I was pulling for Lee Hammonds to get another shot. He’s earned it!
    • Tyler Williams was the logical choice to be named head football. He served as the Highlanders’ strength coach and offensive coordinator.
    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
    • Couple of thoughts: 1.  I just don't understand all the intricacies in TSSAA transfer rules anymore.    William Blount had a kid that played the final part of the basketball season with them this year,  that played at Hardin Valley last year, and played football for Bearden this year.  I say that to say, I know the coaches and the AD and the Principal at WB and I will never believe they would do something they knew was wrong.  They are men of character.  I BELIEVE the same thing about the coaches and administration at Maryville.  Call me gullible, but these are men and women of integrity in my experiences with them. 2.  Much like the transfer of the Clemmer kid a couple of years ago, with Smith, the football team is getting a huge boost, but the impact on the basketball team will be just as great or maybe even greater.  With Smith playing post, it frees the Sigmund kid who will be coming back from injury, to play more with his face to the basket.  The Rebels basketball squad in my mind, will be "the program" in East Tennessee next year.
    • Could not agree more. After this year, McKenzie's new coach will have their work cut out for them. Staying in 1A would definitely be a huge plus. Most years there is not much difference in the top 5- 1A and 2A teams across the state, but after the top 5 or so there is normally a huge drop off for 1A. Regular season region play is a lot easier for 1A in West TN  right now.
