Knoxville Volleyball

I am very impressed by Knoxville volleyball.  K2 has completely changed the landscape of HS volleyball there.  10-15 years ago it was a completely different story.  Brentwood is certainly still the class, and will be for a long time, but the lower divisions have come so far.  Even Concord looked solid--really like their setting.  KC and Webb speak for themselves.  When you look at Brentwood, Goodpasture, Father Ryan, Siegel, Ravenwood, Ensworth in the midstate, it is still pretty strong--even though Ravenwood was down this year.  Siegel are what they are--a top 5 team almost every year that really hasn't been talented enough to win a state championship--but a very good program.   Knoxville has elevated HS volleyball in our state so much.  Pumped to see what the next 10 years will bring over there.  Would love to see Farragut sneak in and beat Brentwood.   I love watching their K2 elite teams play.

Congratulations to all the state champions.   After everything was said and done, the teams everyone expected to win, won.  Brentwood will be in the finals again next year.  Does Farragut have the players to replace what they're loosing.  Can Hardin Valley take that next step?  Webb is loosing some huge players, how will they be?  Goodpasture for 6 in a row?

Knoxville will lose a lot of players. Farragut, HV, Webb, Catholic, Maryville lose all of their top tier players. Only Anderson County, of the stronger teams, had no seniors, and they move back to AA.

Watch for Heritage to challenge in AAA, Webb, for the first time, will have competition in that several public schools are now private. Should see knew faces next year.

Might be some new faces, but there will be a familiar one in AAA for the next 3, possibly 5 years at least.  Go Bruins.

    • QUICK UPDATE -  First, I see a lot of wrestling names that I recognize on that GoFundMe.  THANK YOU so much for helping this family.   After the long surgery on Sunday morning to repair his neck, Jacob suffered a collapsed lung.  Sometimes this happens after long surgeries.  They had to put him on a ventilator to get his breathing back on track.  He came off the vent on Monday morning and they put a BIPAP on him to help control his breathing.  As of today, Thursday, the BIPAP came off and he is breathing well on his own.  He is working towards drinking a glass of water and hopefully eating some solid food at some point in the near future. Jacob can "feel" when someone touches his legs, but there is still no movement.  His parents are beginning to prepare for him to be moved to the Shepherd Center in the next few days.  He will be there in Atlanta for 30-45 days.  Im sure he will receive excellent treatment. Please continue to pray for healing for him and if you are so moved, please contribute to the gofundme link above to help in any way you can.  The go fund me is doing well, but this is going to be a very long road for these guys Im afraid.. Thanks again! Sells
