Anyways let's talk ball. What does oak ridge bring to the table in comparison to last year?. Is this about the same level team as last year or would you say they are a little stronger?

 

Key players to watch for besides Tee? I see McMinn switched to a wing-t this year. Having seen that does it prepare you better for Webb?

 

Are you guys looking past Webb for the showdown with Campbell County next week?

Hey Sparty.  We are mainly a 3 headed animal on offense, Tee, Graham, and qb Johnny Stewart.  Their are some other nice backs, but those guys touch it the most.  

 

McMinn did run the power wing T.  Not sure if its the same thing Webb does.  They basically had 4 plays that they ran to either side, sweep, lead, counter, and waggle (bootleg pass).  We couldn't stop it.  I think Webb may rely more on misdirection than straight power.  

 

No way we are looking past Webb after the whippin we took down at McMinn.  No way Gaddis lets that happen.  I would bet practicing for two weeks after a loss hasn't been a whole lotta fun, they should be ready to play.

Key to OR Win: Ball control. Wear Webb down. Disciplined defense that limits bigs plays. Feature #5 as much as possible.

 

Key to Webb Win: Big Explosive plays from #15 #13 #8. Win the turnover battle. (Last year Webb fumbled 5 or 6 times. The game was over before it started.) Chew as much clock as possible to make game shorter.

I just don't see Webb having an answer for a long game depth wise or for #5. If one of those factors doesn't come into play on Friday, Webb has a legit shot to make this a toss up.

We have very few guys going both ways, those that do go both ways are part of a rotation.  Nobody is on the field all the time.  That may help us.  Another web site shows the Webb roster as having 32 players.  Only 7 of which have lineman numbers.  If that is accurate depth will be a major factor.

I think the roster is a little off. I think it may be closer to 40 but I'm not sure. It's hard to believe that just 6-7 years ago Webb always had around 60. I guess kids aren't as tough as they use to be...

Lacrosse is getting big in West Knoxville, that may pull 5-10 that used to play football.  We are hearing that Hunter Green is a D-1 prospect and has some solid offers.  Is it true the 8th grader has been offered by UT?  Crazy
