wonder if they move to the Upper ET region with Greeneville etc  .. cant see them going down to the Chattanooga teams

Could go one of three ways. Could end up with the upper ET teams (Grainger, Greeneville, Betsy, Sullivan XYZ), the Chattanooga teams (Howard, East Ridge, Hixson, Central, East Hamilton, Sequoyah), or the plateau teams (Stone Memorial, Livingston, Cumberland Co).

Why would Catholic move to region 4 before say Oak Ridge or even Clinton or Powell?

It's obviously a judgement call. All depends on where the line is drawn by TSSAA. Of the Knox-area teams in 5A (other than Lenoir City), Catholic has the shortest drive, which is why I slotted them in region 4; however, we're probably talking about a difference of 5-10 minutes. Karns or Oak Ridge would move before Powell/Clinton, since both are further to the west. Again, it's probably a toss-up.

My best guess is that Catholic is the furthest team West in Knoxville and if the TSSAA tries to even out districts they would go to region 4. Oak Ridge and Clinton are probably going to stay together. To be honest it's a toss up at this point.

Forgive my ignorance but with Kirby also moving to 5A, is there a team that could move to 7-5A? I admit I don't know the geography of where Brighton, Dyer Co or any team in 8-5A if it's feasible for that to be an option. The Montgomery County schools probably dictate that that drive is too excessive. Thus creating a 9 team region 8-5A. Just curious.

    • Agree. The man literally sacrificed time, moments, memories you can't get back with his own family for every single athlete at that school. (and many others) To those that continue to be negative about him and continue to bring him up; He's been loyal, hardworking and just his entire coaching career. Ask anyone that actually has a leg to stand on in regard to Coach.
    • Egotistical? That's a new one.  It's funny, I'm friends with two of the younger coaches that he "ran off" as you say. In fact, he helped them find jobs, encouraged them to do what was best for their growing families, provided advice, support and still does to this day.

    • Track has always been big at OR. Ran off about 7 straight titles in the 60s. Your hate for Gaddis runs deep, huh? What did he ever do to you, to make you disdain him that much? You can’t seem to stop talking about the guy. He’s living rent free in your head. Might wanna get that checked out, you don’t wanna go to the grave with that on your heart.
    • This late in the year, you’d have to think they’d go with an Asst. on staff, right? I’m pretty new to the area so still learning how folks do things around here…if Woods stays there to teach, it could be hard on a new guy/staff coming in…
