AllRegion
Hey guys...I know we're still in the middle of the playoffs, but I wanted to start a thread for each class so we can get a feel for who will be the favorites in 2017. Who returns a lot from a solid team this year and will be a breakout team next year? Who is good this year and will be able to keep it up and not lose many key guys? Who will be the 2017 1A champs?Let's hear it!

AllRegion
That doesn't shock me at all. Coalfield, Greenback and South Pitt have been the powers to contend with in the East for a few years now. Do you all think the west will have an advantage next year as well, or is this when the balance of power will start to shift back towards the east? TheAmbassador
Coalfield and SP in the East.We lose a lot. 3 offensive linemen, quarterback, both wingbacks, 4 defensive linemen, 2 secondary guys. So we only have 5 starters back on each side.

Gbnation
Coalfield doesn't loose much at all. So you would think that they would have a shot to go next year if they can get past GHS and sp. jmo
wildcat89
Whitwell surprised some people this year and it was my understanding that they are a young team
beerman
Whitwell is a very young team...once they learn to win.. and finish games they will be tough to handle. But that region will always go through sp

But that region will always go through spI agree and with CA being out come next year, not that I think they could keep their run going, it will be very winnable for Whitwell. Pretty weak region other than Fayetteville. Not trying to bash the other teams in the region, they just don't make much noise come playoffs.
