Dresden over WC

Dresden has played great programs like Peabody, UC, Humboldt, LC. This is why they were not scared of WC. They have been in the most competitive league for the last 5 years and they have won some and lost some. This district beats up on each other each year. Dresden has a chance to win our 4th gold ball in 5 years. That's SEC type business. WC has Huntingdon. But our district has 4 to 5 competitive teams. Dresden was primed for this. I saw a dominate performance from Dresden all year and that's just what they did tonight. I am not gonna judge WC on one performance. They have a good body of work but they played a MUCH BETTER TEAM tonight. If they played 10 times, Dresden would win 8. SEC vs Big 10. Your District can not stack up against ours. What I saw tonight was a WC team that was slightly better than Peabody's young team, and UC's young team. WC would have beaten Peabody and UC 2 touchdowns, that's it. Go Lions, bring home the gold for your trophy case and another Gold for our district. It has been a great run

It seems the teams not wanting for Dresden to get them gold ball & rings are the teams who've already won their own fair share of shiny trophies. Greedily hogging the presents. That's not fair. Everyone knows we supposed to share & share alike, take turns, and encourage the newbie up&comers. It's how we make America great again, right? It's Dresden's turn for the gold. Our guys even paint their helmets gold hoping for one of those rare awards. And now, it's time. The Year of the Lion. Dresden shall not be denied. Go Lions!

Rumor going around that Rice was in the ER last night. Several Dresden people genuinely concerned & just wondering if it was true & most importantly if he's ok. He looked to be ok walking off the field last night. Just wanted to check with WC fans. Praying rumors are false & the young man is ok.

I haven't heard a word about it and him and my middle son are close friends

    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
    • Couple of thoughts: 1.  I just don't understand all the intricacies in TSSAA transfer rules anymore.    William Blount had a kid that played the final part of the basketball season with them this year,  that played at Hardin Valley last year, and played football for Bearden this year.  I say that to say, I know the coaches and the AD and the Principal at WB and I will never believe they would do something they knew was wrong.  They are men of character.  I BELIEVE the same thing about the coaches and administration at Maryville.  Call me gullible, but these are men and women of integrity in my experiences with them. 2.  Much like the transfer of the Clemmer kid a couple of years ago, with Smith, the football team is getting a huge boost, but the impact on the basketball team will be just as great or maybe even greater.  With Smith playing post, it frees the Sigmund kid who will be coming back from injury, to play more with his face to the basket.  The Rebels basketball squad in my mind, will be "the program" in East Tennessee next year.
    • Could not agree more. After this year, McKenzie's new coach will have their work cut out for them. Staying in 1A would definitely be a huge plus. Most years there is not much difference in the top 5- 1A and 2A teams across the state, but after the top 5 or so there is normally a huge drop off for 1A. Regular season region play is a lot easier for 1A in West TN  right now.
    • Word is Jason Maxwell will be new AD - he is currently head baseball coach. Also heard Roc might be headed to Pope as an assistant coach.
    • you must not know how tssaa operates lol
