Bravey
Looks like Fulton already got schedule filled ... what a change from 4A .. had the toughest time getting teams to play ... but looks like they got a good schedule .. playing out of region 3 teams that went deep into playoffs .. AE (semi's) , Maryville( semi's) and Central (finals) and added Carter who is playoff bound each year and improving under Jeff McMillan ... gonna be some good games with region games against Oak Ridge, West , Campbell Co, Powell, Karns and Clinton ... we would have had to travel to Chattanooga about 3 or 4 times a year in 4A and would have had trouble filling schedule probably ... devilsden
I heard that Knox Co. told schools that had to play Fulton, Farragut, A-E or the AD would make out the schedules himself. Now this is a rumor and I don't know how good the source is. Heard it at a local sporting goods store.

I think there is a rule that if you have common open dates and you are Knox Co schools you have to play .... makes sense to keep money in those schools I guess .. doesnt apply to privates like Knox Catholic who will have a hard time scheduling .. and to beat all they are in a regions with only 5 teams so they will have to get 6 non region games .. good luck getting any Knox Co school to play ... they will probably be playing CPA and traveling to Nasville or KY again .. on top of thier road trips to Rhea Co abd Chattanooga teams .. they got some travel to do still .. they said thats the reason they didnt go private cause they might have to go to Memphis 1 time a year .. but we all know MBA, Brentwood , Ensworth etc ...... changed their minds on that ... LG1977
I saw the schedule and it begins with an immediate rematch with Central. It's a tough looking schedule. I know them Falcons have a good amount of skill players coming back but the offensive and defensive line I'm told is bare. I know they have a couple that will take the reigns but they need depth. If there are any 8th grade linemen out there and are zoned for Fulton or whatnot this is the time to absolutely go to Fulton with a chance to start as a freshman. I missed the pass 3 championship years and I hear so many stories everyday...I'd kinda like to see it for myself too.
Huh
Here we go again with the knoxville catholic stuff again. It had been said over and over that football was not the determining factor for staying in Division 1. It was all the other sports. Basketball, baseball, tennis, cross country, volleyball. These kinds can't travel 2 and a half hours to Nashville and then 2 and a half hours back on school days every week. Football would not have a problem with the traveling. The other sports would have the problem.

Tadvols is right, KCS has a rule in place that requires Knox County teams to schedule one another for non-region games. They've been doing this since 2013, I think. If I remember correctly, Powell had scheduled a home-home with Sullivan South (2013-14) when KCS stepped in with that rule, replacing SS with Fulton. Ridiculous rule! Don't beat teams by 80 and you will find teams that will play you outside of Knox County. I am sure people will want to blast me for that but sometimes the truth hurts. Catholic's schedule is done. Wasn't as hard as everyone thought it would be to find games. Funny thing is a lot of schools contacted them to play. Catholic didn't expect the TSSAA to place them in the region they were put in. Not sure how true it was, but apparently there were some grumblings from schools about Catholic being in their region. But in reality Catholic's location placed them in that region. I know people refuse to believe or even listen but not going to D2 was based on the other athletic teams as well, not just football. I know everyone believes the sun sets on football, but it would have affected other teams as far as travel. The myth that Catholic has all this money is ridiculous and all this "I know someone" talk or "I heard" is just that talk. Like another poster said, if they were losing or hovering around .500 no one would care. Forgive my ranting TadVols I don't want to become Alcoa and hijack a thread lol. You guys should be very good next year. I think the Irish will struggle losing so many players on both sides of the ball a lot of production will be lost to graduation.
