We aren't underestimating him or CC at all... the last 2 times we played them, it has been a close game. One into overtime and region championship was won on buzzer beater. So if anything we remember that and our boys want revenge. They can average however many points they want to, but as you know when 2 good teams play; averages are thrown out. CC won't average that amount and GP won't have the same amount they average. We play about 9 guys and most of them played in a tournament against key this summer. I just want to see our guys against CC. We have guys on our team who feed off of the hype and are ready for the matchup. If they end up playing each other, it should be a great game with a great environment.

Also you shouldn't compare scores from RBS and Gordonsville. You never know what defense or strategy you'll get from RBS and Gordonsville always has something new everytime we see them. Outside of key what players do they have because their post presence is gone and GP has 4 post that rebound like crazy when they want to. This is the first year they have had a entirely healthy squad who have been playing together for a while now.

Has GP "acquired" any new talent this year or is this the same team from last year?  The one that Jackson County beat on their home floor.  What a great game that was to watch :)

They were not healthy, they were missing their best post due to a stress fracture and also "acquired" another 6'4 225 lb post with massive shoulders.

Shocker ..... However he can't guard Tyreke so i don't like your chances of winning the region, but they've got a good chance to travel to VanBuren County to the substate.  Anything can happen come tourney time that's for sure.

If this GP team is any way close to that 2014 team then they are good. In our 3 years as state champs we only 1 game in single digits, that was GP in the first round. If the young man hits that FT with .5 left then they are state champs. Are they as good now as they were then?

If you compare the stats to that 2014 team, then this year is better but they don't have the heart,effort, or pride like that team did.

That year the state championship was played in this game.  If GP had won they would have won it all, it was a great game to watch for sure.  How's Mitchell this year Galilee?  I see where Humboldt is tearing it up over there, will you guys get them in the substate?

We have 3 guards that will be all district and all region. Point guard will be district MVP and 1st team region, our perimeter guards are 6'4 and 6'6 and we have a guard off the bench who can try and help slow down Key. I'm just here supporting the school I've loved and put my kids through. I believe Key is very good but he's all you guys talk about. There has to be other news in this district.

That was the title game. We are good this year but do not have that 1 star player like Martin, Echols, or Ollison. As usual we have played a tough non league losing to East, Whitehaven, and state champs in Ark, Mo, and La.

      Can’t believe no one posted on this and gave this team the recognition they deserve!  AAU team Tennessee went to Iowa and done what no other team had ever done and took down Iowa and the strength by holds in AAU nationals!!! Yes McCallie had a solid group of 8th graders and they showed up but we had an AAU team that wrestled their butt off and we didn’t just place in the top 5 … we won the whole dang thing! Yes the NHSCa’s were happening and that may have hurt but never once had TN ever won the national folkstyle duals national championship!!  It was a team effort and some amazing young kids!!!    We are not a fly over state any more… on a side note : we have any even better team for cadet National's team duals in Utah and have a chance to sweep both duals which would be unprecedented!!! However the funds aren’t there and USA isn’t in th position to help these kids get to utah as was AAU that got us to Iowa! Stay tuned for some oppertunities to help make a statement for Tn!!!

      Not gonna lie, it’s been hard watching my alma mater go through a tough stretch on the grid iron. But this thread is even worse. y’all sound like a bunch of jr high mean girls, popping off, while hiding behind screen names.
