RePublic High School

Something in my gut tells me that Republic football will probably fall thru.  No coach, no facilities, only half a schedule, no one knows what is going on, etc.............

Where will this put the teams it has scheduled and in particular, it's scheduled region games?

They'll all get a 1-0 forfeit victory since RePublic has been approved and classified by the TSSAA.

How did they convince TSSAA to let them play a varsity schedule without doing the 2 year JV schedule etc?

I always thought the 2 years of JV thing was for schools that started with only freshmen. When Liberty opened the had all 4 grades and were varsity from the beginning.

Sissy Mtn did a 2 year thing.  So did Sale Creek and they have been around at least 60 years.

I was thinking Sale Creek jumped right in to varsity play without doing the 2 yr. jv schedule first.

Sale Creek has been around since 1908 I think.

You are right, SC opened in 1908.  I know we have been playing them nearly 60 years in basketball.  They had some athletes in the 70s and 80s. Officially they jumped in, but they did build from a middle school team in 2011-12.

He will have a junior varsity program as well as the varsity team this year. The original plan was for JV play only in 2013, but this begins a two-year scheduling cycle for the TSSAA and Sale Creek had to pick between two years of JV only or varsity right away
