1A/2A TSWS All State football teams

For the good that this list does the few that make it, it should be discontinued. Not one player from the west side of the state made the 2A list outside Memphis...not one. Scotts Hill had the west Tn. defensive player of the year...for all classifications...not a mention. Adamsville, Riverside, and McKenzie also had kids worthy of the list, and though I'm aware that not all probably would make it...it's Ridiculous that not one did. If you have a vote, do the research instead of just being a "homer".

The kid who was named West Tn. defensive player of the year was Russell, but I really was pointing out the fact that some team someplace between Memphis and the Tn. River probably a kid deserving of the honor too. I even alluded to a couple of teams with outstanding players, and stated that I knew not all deserving would be named, just that at least one should probably have, and thanks for the discussion.

Trader we know what you mean and you are right. 1a and 2a champions went through the west and defeated quality teams and players. But the RUNNER UPS out of the east had all the teams and players represented on the all state team . That is not over looking players. The east can't get that gold ball back so they hang on to the all state team. Before anyone says it. Yes we know the power had always been the east. We know history. But that is just it. I was just having fun. You and I both have seen these lists that select deserving players for other players that are clearly deserving but do not have the hype behind them. The system is crazy for selections and I just had two children named to post season recognition teams. I have my own thoughts about the why's of their post season recognition. You very well should be proud... everyone realizes that any "10 best" list more than likely isn't the 10 best, but to be named does validate that they are worthy of the consideration ... so congratulations! Really wasn't promoting the kid from "my" school as much as remarking that a whole section of the state was devoid of mention. Football is his second sport, and he was thrilled to receive the honor that he was awarded. There are some awesome athletes who had amazing seasons in our neck of the woods too, just was disappointed that none made the list.

RB Lb Dylan yates. WR DB Quincy McDonald. WR Austin Thomas.

#11 I liked a lot the Mitchell kid was good too. Rico Taylor. K.Rooks The list goes on for them.

 

UC- Tucker Kennedy was a monster. I forget the qbs name who finished the season but he did a real good job. Bumphus and Laz Scribner were some real ballers who's season got short due to injuries.

Can't forget 6-A with Huntingdons Kade Pearson Zach Dodson and Dylan Johnson and Wayne Countys Rice Bevis very surprised not to see Burchette listed that kid is a warrior. Also Bruceton had the fastest player in 1A football with Zayveon Johnson

I was surprised that Birchette didn't make the list, one of the best linebackers I've had the pleasure of watching and so unselfish. His junior year WC had lost all of their defensive line to graduation so coach Rice moved him and Ray to defensive tackles and they were a tough front

Honestly I thought Donovan Stewart's list was better. He's listed on that one. I stand by my words tho, he was a warrior on that field.
