DO NOT LIST ANY NAMES!!!!!!!!!

Are refs being consistent throughout they association, with calls, being able to talk to them, and not making the game about themselves

From what I've seen I do not think so. I will say I've probably not seen near as many game as some on here have but some like the spot light to much. I've seen coaches try to talk to them and they just walk away. Calls verses no calls are terrible and they appear to hold some player to a different standard.

Our big man has had calls go against him that were off the wall. The refs never wanted to talk about it He was being punished for being bigger that the other guys on the floor.

Wow do I know how that goes. They told ours the other night he couldn't hold his arm up parallel to his shoulders because his elbow was in the face of the defender. They call two fouls on him because of it.

Two words :

THEY'RE TERRIBLE!!

From what I've seen it's pretty much everywhere. All about them, let players and coaches decide games, not them !

When only players and coaches decide games isn't that called a scrimmage? Or, do you have another idea for eliminating mistakes and biases by referees?

Even top, pro-level referees are not without faults. And, when one considers how many hundreds are needed at the high school level on game nights, there is likely to be bad ones. The system is not perfect. But if the number of referees were whittled down to only those who are without fault or bias there likely would not be enough to go around.

They're not held accountable! You're right, there are a lot of good officials but definitely not enough to go around. Most take pride in their job. Just takes 1 out of 3 to make the whole crew look bad. My biggest complaint is inconsistency. Calling one way then completely changing. I've seen some scrimmages called better by the way !

Here is the deal . Refs will never be perfect all we ask is be consistent . Way too many bogus rules now from logos tights shorts rolled over . Had a ref jump a kid in jv for switching his shirt on the court . Is any of that really a big deal . Guess they are instructed to not get in conversation with coaches which is just not right .,the good ones will still give you explanations .,lets face it they aren't professional . You just hate it for kids cause someone season will come to an end based on their calls . Our coach says it best play great and don't let it come down to a call .

Refereeing is a thankless job at any level. I just don't remember it being like it is now. One reason there is no accountability is they're not enough of them. They can't hold accountable or discipline any because they have no others to use. I've talked with a couple and they all say the same thing not enough of them and not enough new ones coming in. Some good ones are still around but you get one good one with two not so good and it can make for a long night. I'm not sure what the answer is just don't think TSSAA really cares as long as the games are covered.

T$$AA is all about the money. You're absolutely right, somebody's season will come to an end because of incompetence. They should realize people don't come to watch them, they come to watch the game, and to whoever said that if it were left up to the coaches and players it would be a scrimmage? It would be called better!

Quit complaining about it from the stands, take matters into your own hands and become one!  That way you can do your part in correcting the situation instead of getting on a website and complaining about it.  That's what wrong with our country today, too many people want to complain and point fingers instead of rolling up their sleeves and be a part of fixing the issue.  Yeah there are some ref's that aren't the best I've experienced it myself as a assistant coach and a head coach, but its not an easy job.  I've never missed a call from the stands, I'm sure you haven't either.   :popcorneater:
