The traditional title will come down to which team performs best in consos.  Getting kids to dig deep and battle back and gain conso points will be extremely vital in such a tight team race.  Ultimately the team with the most depth will come out on top.  This year could come down to a crucial 1/2 point making all the difference.

This is very biased towards Baylor. Pettway will have to wrestle extremely well to make it to the finals. Westlake most likely won't make the finals. Hartline definitely won't make the finals. Y'all are already counting Dendy out which is a mistake. And Berry was leading Duffy at 160 the entire match. Baylor will not have 7 finalists. 6 tops. MBA will have 5 or 6. McCallie with 6 or 7. Father Ryan and CBHS with around that number as well. Whoever gets the most 3rd place finishers will win this one. It will be an extremely close team race. Can't wait to see how it all pans out.

You are correct.  AZN has a biased red-tinted view point.  Pittway has a chance because he is 2-0 vs. the #1 from the west, so that one is not that crazy. Hardline would need a big upset.  Dendy can't be counted out... he is tough.

You're wrong on Berry.  Were you there?  Duffy got a takedown and back points in the first. He was up 4-1 at the end of the first.  You just can't make stuff up.

Father Ryan is the faviorte because they have 8 seniors!  McCallie has 4?, CBHS 2?, and Baylor `1?   FR wins again, but next year has to be a rebuilding year, right?

I was there. Berry led 6-5 going into 3rd. If I remember correctly he had 2 escapes and 2 takedowns. I don't ever "just make stuff up" in any of my posts. Edited by D2wrestlingfan

Look, it's hardly worth locking horns over, because the match means nothing, but you said "And Berry was leading Duffy at 160 the entire match."

In actuality,  Duffy won the first 4-1, Berry won the second and was up by one, and the 3rd was scoreless when the fall occurred.  Both are young wrestles and anything could happen the next time they meet.

    • I think they will find a good back, maybe not a Dozier, but I think one that can do the job. Same way with the receivers. I think Coach Rang is an excellent judge of talent from what I have seen and he will put the best players on the field.  As for the indoor facility, I hope there are plans down the road, I know in the new world of wide open recruiting, facilities matter. I was very glad to see the nice updates to the track facilities by the way, track has always been a big part of ORHS Athletics, as the poster said, going back to the track championships in the 50s and 60s, A lot of football players run track and it helps them become faster and quicker in the fall.
    • Yea, they have Davey quaking in his boots. Someday they'll even have a winning season.
    • Guessing this may have been the closest I can think of...... Bill Harlow: (from wiki) After leaving OSU, Harlow went on to win three national titles in freestyle wrestling.  He won a silver medal at the 1970 World Wrestling Championships, falling to Soviet Gennady Strakhov in the finals at 90 kg.
    • The Simpson brothers had good freestyle careers.
