Alcoa will definitely be there. Austin-East is their biggest challenge in East-TN.

Milan and Trezevant will be the team's to beat in West-TN.

Pearl-Cohn will be the favorite to come out of the midstate. Stratford (if Fitzgerald stays) and Giles will be good and Fairview will be efficient as always. I think Cheatham will be very good with what they have returning also.

there need s to be an official 2nd place gold ball TSSAA...now that ND has left the PUBS; there will never be another title holder until Aluminum City moves up/down, gets caught and given death penalty or they discontinue the football program and put hardwood alleys on top of that cheap turf

What does Austin East have coming back? I know they were a top 5 last yr in 2A.

I think you are spot on. I don't know much about Cheatham.  What can you tell me about them and Giles?

A-E lost their All state QB. He's headed to Coastal Carolina. They lost their top 4 receivers and top 2 rushing leaders. They'll have some young athletes step up in the skill positions. Curious to see what their line looks like next year.

Will be interesting to see how line okay comes together for Milan. We return 2 backs with 1300+yds a piece and one with D1 offers. The qb is returning also. But losing Jacob Rimmer up front will be tough to replace. We were very deep last year in the O and D lines but many starters graduated. Hopefully the young dawgs in the trenches grow up quick cause the skill position talent is gonna be great.

Cheatham returns arguably the best two offensive players (definitely 2 of the Top 5) at QB and RB in Region 6-3A. They also return the best defensive football player in the region on their DL. It will be the best Cubs team since 2012 IMHO. As was the case in 2012 they'll have a chance but will have to find a way to beat Fairview.

Giles County has been a perrenial contender in 4A and they have arguably one of the best offensive football coaches across the state. They'll be hard to handle for the Metro schools that are unsound and don't play with discipline.

Pearl and Stratford are two of the better coached schools in MNPS and with their athletes will pose challenges.

    • This late in the year, you’d have to think they’d go with an Asst. on staff, right? I’m pretty new to the area so still learning how folks do things around here…if Woods stays there to teach, it could be hard on a new guy/staff coming in…
    • Well, your Big Western Hunt better turn up some Zebras to come graze on the Stones to make the jungle gametime ready again and make sure the plumber bros. still will come service the facilities at the Mecca. I hope your weekend is Fowl. Tell Rip hello from the Five Oh. Maybe the Gravedigger will catch a ride with Alphaniner on a flyover soon to BNA.
    • It’s not hearsay, just patently false. As one of those young coaches he apparently “ran off”, coach never once ridiculed or degraded anyone. Sure he challenged kids and coached them very hard,  but we have different definitions of you call that degrading. Coach Hammontree changed my life when he gave me the chance to work for him. I learned more about being a man and caring for the people around me in 4 years working for him than I did in 20 years of my life. No one sacrificed more than he did. I left Heritage because I felt there would never be the support necessary to help the program succeed. I’m tired of hearing people drag others down especially those they truly don’t know. Coach has moved on and a new coach is there. Just let the man live and root for the team.
    • Waiting on the Great One.   White Horse and Rip have a big weekend in the woods, and the Sheriff is working the overtime here.      Turkey season awaits…..Big Gobblers everywhere.
