Kirk Haston came back in 1997 and was Class A Mr Basketball tournament MVP state champs and Perry Co was 37-0, I'm pretty sure.

Ricky Bubba Vanhowser was MVP of clay county church league. He averaged 43.9 a game. His grandfather and grandma was pf and sf.

If you are trying to minimize this kids skills you have a)never seen him play and/or b)just want to hate just to hate. This kid dropped 30+ppg in big time AAU events in Indiana (MVP awards too) and other states but I guess those weren't good enough either.

Forgot about him, but saw him in person too...my point is that you can see talent without necessarily facing equal competition.

That's right, you can only play who's on the schedule! He brings it every game. Why in the world would you not have everything go through him the last 3 minutes of the game? It's not like Harriman stopped him, they didn't/couldn't even slow him down. He will be just fine with the Sycamores. I bet some college coaches are kicking themselves for not getting in on him earlier. Bird played there and he turned out okay?

I would be interested to see how many have been in contact since the tournament. Has he signed or just committed?

I do know of 1 offer with others who have contacted after the state tournament and that's Western Kentucky University. He has signed so any undeclare would require him to be released from ISU to play for another school this year. Edited March 21, 2017 by Shozen

Very good player but no where close to being the best ever. Penny, Tony Delk, Mike Rhodes, Perry Wallace, Charles Davis, and many others from Memphis. If he were the best ever he would be going to Kentucky not Indiana State.

Went to state tournament on Friday with my son thinking Key must shoot every time he touches it.  Heard that he scored 54 the day before and was convinced he must shoot it constantly.  Watched him play and was screaming for him to shoot it.  Key was the most unselfish player on his team.  He passed it way too much.  He would average 60 if he shot it more.  I saw a young man who appeared to very humble and unselfish and talked to several Clay Co fans that spoke so highly of this young man.  He is a legend in Clay Co and deserves every award he receives. He has two fans from Dresden now.  Unbelievable to watch play.
