2018 Bear Den Brawl

January 5-6th, 2018 Union High School will be hosting the 2018 Bear Den Brawl at Union High School in Big Stone Gap, Va. We are aiming to have a 12-16 team dual tournament with individual champions.

 

On Friday, teams will wrestle 2 matches against two opponents that are not in their pool. (These wins/losses will not count towards the individual portion)

 

On Saturday, teams will be split into 4 pools made up of up to 4 teams each. The teams will wrestle an in-pool round robin. The best wrestler from each weight class in each pool (4 per class) will come together to wrestle off for 1st/2nd and 3rd/4th. A team champ will be determined based on number of placers/champions that each school has.

 

Top 4 individuals will receive medals and the top two teams will receive a trophy.

 

We hope to guarantee each team 5-8 matches over a 2 day period. We have also invited several out of state schools from NC, TN, and KY to participate in this tournament.
