I actually agree with some of what you said. I believe all privates should play privates including the ones that aren't very good. I also think public should play public and even the ones that aren't

As much as we've heard this in the last 25+ years I really wish it would be reported and not just an urban legend.   No benefactor is needed with our MCPS teams right now, just a good recruiter.

Students in Maury and surrounding counties can apply out-of-zone and attend/play in any high school in Maury County.  Students from out of county would have to pay a fee...in county do not. They would have to provide their own transportation but that would be much cheaper than paying tuition at CA.  I just never thought the people in my own county would become frightened to play a school that has had only limited success in the past.  The last 2 years they have begun to compete...and we're bailing?  Are you kidding?

So, if the district schools have enough information to stop playing Columbia Academy then why don't they report that information to the TSSAA, so Columbia Academy can be investigated and punished? 

 

To cry foul and to stop playing during the regular season just seem to be a childish way to handle the situation. When I played coaches & players got up for the games against your best competition. We were not taught to run and hide from them. 

 

If a school doesn't like the rules set forth by the TSSAA then boycott the TSSAA. 

 

All teams still have to play when it counts and from what's returning in boys basketball Columbia Academy and Mt. Pleasant will be your top 2 teams in the new District 10A by far.

They do run a bus everyday to the crossings in spring hill to drop off kids and parents take them back to Williamson county. Why are they one of the few private schools in the state to still play in division 1? They enjoy winning and the $$$ that comes with it. They would be average if they were in a district with other private schools that operate like they do. They know this that's why they are trying their best to stay in division 1.

It costs to ride those buses...it's extra besides tuition...and most students on them are elementary school age.  

I guess if they are profiting from winning then the public schools who win profit too?  In that case public schools shouldn't allow out-of-zone?  My guess would be that the baseball program at SHHS has a few students who came there to play for a great coach and a winning team.  They've had great success in the last few years...but guess what?  No complaints from area teams...no dropping them from the schedule...

Why didn't anyone drop CA when they were mediocre? If you know much about small school districts you know that success and great players cycle around.  MtP Football...and basketball is a great example.  Nobody tried to drop them...

I just hate to see people take advantage of an old stereotype to try and rob a team of success that they earned.  Use the "they must be doing something illegal, immoral, or just not right in order to win...

Again, if TSSAA rules allow it then there is no issue. Columbia Academy is not making the rules they are just working within the TSSAA rules. 

 

Heck, there are kids within our MCPS that are playing for schools outside their zoned area, in sports that their zoned school has? What's the difference? It appears TSSAA rules allow that as well. 

 

District 11A has been ruled by Mt. Pleasant and Columbia Academy the last eight years. Mt. Pleasant won four in a row before Columbia Academy won the last four. Mt. Pleasant had a down year this past year but should be on the way back up.

It seems they have done much better with a certain coach who previously took a 97 team to the state finals.Transportation and tuition is reduced by athletes by letting the parents work the concession stands.Out of zone is not for athletic purposes and if it is being used for that whether public or private then that is wrong and an athlete has to sit out a year without a change in residence.CA has had some really good teams the last five years and those kids play hard. They just operate totally different then the public schools and should be playing in division 2.Why do you think the AAA schools don't want to play Ensworth and Brentwood Academy? Just because T$$aa allows CA to stay in division 1 for now doesn't mean their are some issues wrong with that. This runs much deeper than a team that is winning so now teams don't want to play them theme.

Public school out-of-zone is used for athletics as well as any other reason you choose to use it. TSSAA is fine with it as long as you begin Freshman year in your school of choice, or sit out a year.

Concession stand work for ballgames at CA is handled by volunteers. Football concession is run by youth league football parents and basketball parents...and visa versa.

      I think the OC is a guy the he brought from Fulton with him. I am not sure though. I have heard a lot of conflicting information. It seems like a couple of coaches that he hired have since been let go.

      If someone needed their grades pumped up surley it would have to be for someone needing it to get to another level. If your intending on going to work right after high school it wouldn't matter. Why would someone in their right mind think if they screwed it up in high school that their ready for college. It has to be for an athlete to get them over the fence to get in and from that point the school their going to will cheat them through the rest of the way for their athletic skills just like the rest.

      The new school will be on that road behind Home Depot next to a church. I'm wondering if this could take from Greenback or could it be the end of Greenback, they only have 200 students.

      Yeah it will take the county kids in that area that were going to lenior city. They will move down to 4a I think
