davidlimbaugh
David, They appealed the touch at 3rd base (judgement call). The umpires ruled on the touch appeal. Should be end of story. A friend in Georgia told me that was original appeal. When that was denied they then contended that umpire saying "Ball Game!" was the issue, http://highschoolsports.blog.ajc.com/2017/05/22/johns-creek-baseball-wins-final-appeal-will-play-lee-county-in-game-3-on-wednesday/ "Has anyone mentioned the fact that the home plate umpire called "ball game" prior to all of this stuff that ensued after?" But my buddy could be wrong "White acknowledged that overturning a judgment call sets an uneasy precedent. It’s not unusual for the GHSA to alter results based on the failure of officials to apply rules correctly. But in this case, the board of trustees effectively changed the outcome of a game based on the belief that umpires misjudged whether the runner touched third."
