This was DESTROYED at the TSSAA Regional Meeting. You could tell from the responses and body language that the TSSAA staff didn't like it either.

One main point was why move Softball and not Baseball as well when they have the same pros and cons in the logic?

I'm glad it wasn't approved.  Who was the "genius" that proposed this?

According to the Minutes for the TSSAA Regional Meeting it was proposed by Columbia Central.

LOL. It would interfere with soccer/volleyball and girls basketball. The amazing thing about having softball in the spring is that is girls can play volleyball/soccer, then basketball, then softball. Some smaller schools need those athletes.

Just curious..why does the TSSAA classify softball and baseball with basketball? I understand doing baseball/softball together but no other sport was grouped with basketball. The sports are suppose to be divided evenly among participants but are not. There are several districts especially in baseball looking at it that only have 3 to 4 teams playing baseball/softball but 7 to 8 in basketball. Volleyball, track, cross country, golf..all other minor sports we done differently.
