Mike, I think you are right. I want to win as well, but it's going to be an extremely tough game for SP to try and win. SP has some athletes... we just don't have quite as many as Whitwell. I think a lot of people will have them favored in the rematch.

I honestly believe this rematch will come down to who’s defense breaks first. Both are a running offense first, throw when needed.

But SP definitely needs to come out playing smash mouth football much like we did against MC. That’s the team that will beat Whitwell! Buckle up folks, gonna be a long week!

SP had several chances in the last game to stretch the lead to 21 and Whitwells D bowed their neck. Whitwell in the second half took over the game and wore out the right side of our line with Petty in an old school single wing type. Should be a great game and atmosphere again!

Whitwell outplayed SP in the fourth quarter last game and it was almost enough for the win. SP controlled the third quarter and it was barely enough.

Yeah then another issue is we both will wear each other out, and the following week will be tougher.  I still say Coalfield reps the East.

I won't back off that prediction either. I picked them in the summer and I will stay with that prediction. That passing attack I saw vs Harriman live and then when I watched the Greenback game on the computer... it's impressive!

You are correct. Whitwell does not think they will lose. They have older, quality athletes and more speed IMO.

PP, The Pirates have not performed good since Jasper. Was it a fluke the Pirates hammered the Warriors? Games since strongly support/suggest the Pirates peaked, and have not put together anything close since. Old Pirate says it is time for tough talk and complete commitment from team "If" another step is afforded the Pirates.

I agree.  Plus they have 6’4” 270 lbs linemen and the receivers are like 6’2”.  And everyone know Parker McKinney.  I remember when he was a freshman I knew he was special.

    • QUICK UPDATE -  First, I see a lot of wrestling names that I recognize on that GoFundMe.  THANK YOU so much for helping this family.   After the long surgery on Sunday morning to repair his neck, Jacob suffered a collapsed lung.  Sometimes this happens after long surgeries.  They had to put him on a ventilator to get his breathing back on track.  He came off the vent on Monday morning and they put a BIPAP on him to help control his breathing.  As of today, Thursday, the BIPAP came off and he is breathing well on his own.  He is working towards drinking a glass of water and hopefully eating some solid food at some point in the near future. Jacob can "feel" when someone touches his legs, but there is still no movement.  His parents are beginning to prepare for him to be moved to the Shepherd Center in the next few days.  He will be there in Atlanta for 30-45 days.  Im sure he will receive excellent treatment. Please continue to pray for healing for him and if you are so moved, please contribute to the gofundme link above to help in any way you can.  The go fund me is doing well, but this is going to be a very long road for these guys Im afraid.. Thanks again! Sells
