Unfortunately, its going to affect someone no matter who wrestles first. We toyed with the idea of running the two Sunday tournaments at the same time but some clubs will need their smaller beginners to fill their dual lineups so a lot of these kids will wrestle in both tournaments. We will knock it out as fast as possible and hopefully be done with both tournaments by 6:00 pm

I think we have already forgotten why we started the beginner events after 1200pm last season, and maybe even why they were instituted to begin with. I will have a number of kids miss this event because the parents won't put their wrestling before their church.

They will hold out for Mt. Juliet in hopes they don't cancel their beginner event.

I started the beginner tournaments and certainly haven't forgotten why I did so. In fact that's why we are holding a beginners state tournament so these young wrestlers can experience a big event geared just to them as opposed to the way most beginner tournaments are ran. Unfortunately in our sport we are limited by the availability of venues large enough to host events such as these. We have to schedule around basketball, Tssaa events, etcc. This is why we are wrestling on Sunday morning. I hope your little guys can attend but if they chose not to I certainly understand and respect their decision.

If you are planning on wrestling in the begginers state tournament, you need to sign up asap. We have to cut off entries at 400 due to time and it already has almost 300 signed up.

Also we need all state dual teams in by Thursday.

I "blindly" trust you. Wish we had a Matrix to verify.;)

Ill try to get it turned on. Coach Lauderdale set it up on track but unfortunately his mother passed away and he has been having to handle all of the arrangements. Last time I looked there were 170 kids signed up for the beginners.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Coach Lauderdale's mother.  Coach Lauderdale is a great man and has done so much for wrestling.  Coach, you and your family are in my prayers.

    • Tax payer dollars are paid for certified teachers to "teach" and then coach. The primary job is to teach.  There are some district that ay awesome supplements and others that don't. Dyersburg and Dyer County are pretty close if I remember correctly. I would imagine that Football and basketball are above $10,000 now.  I've heard that Milan is $20,000 for boys basketball. I would imagine that football is more than that in Milan.  Collierville has camps that coaches get paid extra for. 3 camps a year, 100 kids a camp, $30,000 right there.  There are places like Memphis-Shelby County schools where the supplements are garbage even for the head coaches. I made less than $3,000 as the head assistant at Germantown in 2015 when we were 26-4 and one of the best teams in the Southeast. As a head middle school coach next year I will make between $4-5,000 at a municipal in Shelby County.  Coaches should be compensated for the jobs that are required but lets keep in mind that they are educators first.  It's pretty frustrating to other teachers that work their tale off teaching 6-7 classes a day to watch someone roam campus, not teach (or have very minimal responsibilities), and get paid the same (more with supplements) as a person who has the some years of experience or sometimes less.
    • This will get coaches leaving the profession very quickly if this kid wins this case. This is absurd...
    • yeah money aint right there anymore
    • I suppose you are correct but from my understanding it was going to be a situation of the HC saying yay or nay to every play
