Then 75% of the schools in Div 1 would have to move up.

Open enrollment allows schools to pull players from other schools.  If the best players go to the same school it's not hard to win.  We have a population of about 17,000 and we have 600 in school.   If pull best players from a urban area of a large population and you still have 600 kids you have a big time advantage.   Open enrollment should have a multiplier effect .

I am not disputing anything you are saying. All I am saying is that most of the public schools in Tennessee are open in Roman schools by TSSAA definition.

ALL public schools are open enrollment UNLESS their own Board of Education voted to limit it.

Absolutely true. I have noticed on here over the years some posters complain about open zone school and they didn’t even realize their own district was open zone as well. Amazing how few have a good understanding of their own school board policies.

People need to understand the dynamics of something before denouncing it. Open zone vs. closed zone is a "hot topic" in sports, but has little to do with it in concept. Open zone policy is for taxpayer equality...here in Henderson Co. we have multiple schools at every level, and although we are proud of all of them we still offer the choice of where your child will attend. We run bus routs which are computer generated, determining (according to address) which school your child attends unless you provide transportation, in which case you have choice of any of them. If building capacity isn't maxed out, we then offer to accept out of county students provided they pay a tuition amount equal to that which the county covers for in county students on a first come/first serve basis. Pretty simple...it's the best policy to offer "fairness" and choice to the taxpayers.

    • Yep..could possibly have 3 teams ranked in top ten in the same four team district.
    • He had an opportunity to be the OC at TC without final say in the offensive gameplan. How does that work? Smh. Head Coaches are public figures regardless of the community size, and yes there are some out there, it’s irrelevant and not fair to them to name them on here. Also why is said “head coach” the head coach of the MS baseball program to begin with? Oh because no one wants it. As for the Lebanon question, I know what I’ve been told so just going off here say, some of the boosters were not happy with his roster decisions and wanted him out. Although he lead them to 20+ wins in multiple seasons
    • A head coach in the school system? No I dont think so. Head coaches are public figures in small communities. Not trying to slander, but this is an actual question. Do you know why he was forced to resign at Lebanon? This was his second chance.  He already left trousdale once and had an opportunity to come back a couple of years ago but spoiled that.
    • Are you perfect? Nope no one is, at the end of the day there are several teachers/coaches and even some in the Trousdale County school system that have DUI’s on their record. You’re correct on it being a bad mistake and it unfortunately could have ended horribly. While you consider the consequences minimal, I can assure you they are not. Ultimately I hope and have faith that he will learn from it and use it to better himself.
